Hey,

Been surfing for 5 hours now on e-cigs after trying a drag of a friends for the first time. I was impressed and want to get something. It was a 'smoketip' brand one, with a case that charged it which i thought was a cool idea, but it seems that most brands don't offer which i found weird.

Anyways, after surfing, i think this is what my criteria is and am looking for recommendations.
-strong vapour and throat hit. i smoke a pack of strong cigarettes a day (du maurier regulars, a canadian brand)
-Similar in size to regular cigarette
-two piece design, prefilled (not interested in filling cartridges. i want something simple)
-decent/strong battery.
-reliable company, a product that will work well and is well built.
-a travel case that charges would be nice but not mandatory.

Please do not try to talk me into the virtues of filling my own please. I know I'm not interested in that at this time. I really need something pre-filled and ready to rock.

i've come across these ones quite a bit
greensmoke (seems to be one of the biggest?)
v2 (seems to have serious shipping/availability issues)
safesig
whitecloud (pricy but good?)

and can i assume that sites like this are BS? electroniccigarettesreviews.net?

i also read a review that mentioned his V2 e model had a button on it, that he pressed before he inhaled. Said initially he thought it was not a good feature but after using it for a bit it turns out he liked it as there was vapour as soon as he inhaled where other models took a second as it started after you inhaled?

thanks in advance.

ok i know that the vendors you listed are rated on sites that get paid every time a sell is made with their discount code, simply they get paid for listing said vendors on their review site as "the best". i fell for the v2 site which is actually really good to me but really pricey and not the best. if you want good price, with a 2 piece set and looks like a cig (which you will get over after a few weeks) i would recommend Vapor4life they offer good prices on 2 piece sets (kr808d-1) and offer a crap load of prefilled cartos that you just pop on a charged battery and your ready to go. some sets might come with a pcc but you can always get one seperately... v4l is definately a good starter choice and i wish i would have known to go there b4 i went to v2cigs. there are others but im giving my personal opinion as a semi beginner

edit-- any ecig similar to looking like a real cig will not have that great a charge, 2-3 hrs per charge, but good side is most kits come with 2 batteries and can easily be charged with a device with a usb port or a wall charger so you cant go too wrong with that unless you work outside constantly or something =/

I should add that im not overly concerned with the price. Not rich or anything, but this is important to me so im looking for the best, not the cheapest.

Max Fusion at bloogplanet.net or Vapor4Life.com - both are KR808D1 models and their cartomizers, batteries and chargers are compatible. Watch for sale codes in the Vapor4Life forum here. They have them a few times a week.

Figure every 100mAh of battery power will last about an hour of medium vaping. No ones KR808D1 are all that special. Manual batteries you push a button to activate, Automatics get activated when you puff. The higher end automatics don't require you to suck air as long to get them going.

Try a few interesting flavors at different nicotine levels to get you going. Don't overbuy because there is an evolution to what one likes in a PV and what works for life styles, etc. You won't know until you use something for a while.

Welcome to the world of vaping. I hope you find something you'll like.

Stay away from v2cigs. They are a nightmare to deal with and you'll pay for and wait forever for overpriced, mediocre product.

First of all congratulations on your decision to quit smoking tobacco products by going with an electronic cigarette. Secondly, I'm spry to say, If you want long battery life and a realistic look you will be disappointed. Most models that have a long battery life tend to either be longer or larger than a standard 100 length cigarette and rarely have color options that look like a real cigarette. But here is a newbie guide for you. To find both the best prices and the particular ecig that suits your needs, look at the forum suppliers forum you will find a huge list of ecig stores there. When looking for a store for your ecig keep a few things in mind. First, you want a battery with a 280mah or higher rating. This will give you the closest sensation to real smoking. Also look for battery colors of white and cartomizer color of tan, brown or white. Last you should check out youtube for e cigarette reviews. Tons of people do lots of reviews of various ecig models and sellers. This is an excellent source of info on what to buy and where to buy. Finally, many companies have recharging cases for many different models you just have to look around. Good luck and happy vaping.

Hi Puckness and welcome to the forum!

I see that you are a fellow Canadian! Good news and bad news....I have yet to find a Canadian vendor that offers pre-filled cartridges in anything other than zero nicotine :( Being that you are a duMaurier smoker, you are probaby going to need a nic strength of about 24mg/ml initially. There ARE some Canadian juice vendors that offer a duMaurier-like flavoured e=liquid, however, it comes in bottles, not prefilled anything.

Starter kits. If I were to start over, I think I would like to start on the Bloog Maxx Fusion -- a pricier kit but the reviews of this kit claim that unit performs most like an anologue cigarette of any others out there. Also, I have read reviews by some of the veteran PV users on this site and even they have been won over. Here are a couple of Canadian threads on the Bloog Maxx Fusion: Bloog Maxx Fusion Rules and Bloog Maxx Fusion Mini PCC Kit from HappyVaper.com. There are a version of these over at Nhaler.com (in the us) - they're called KR808d-1 M.F. styled and he offers a 'smart' pcc that will charge 2 batts at the same time and carry up to 6 cartomizers -- from him, you can get the cartomizers 'pre-filled'.

Again, welcome to the forums and good luck on this adventure!

Pucknell, honestly, none of the kits mentioned in your OP are very good, sorry...

If they ship to Canada, try this:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ved-cartos-same-day-shipping.html#post3052932

It's a Bloog clone and the price is better. If you like it, you can always add manual batteries, different cartomizers, atties, whatever. It's a very popular kr808 connection, widely available and reasonably priced.

Good luck!

I have to agree with my fellow posters. The vendors you listed are substandard and over priced.

I am a Bloog user, after a great deal of research, and couldn't be happier with my decision. Delivers an analog like experience with no fuss, no primer puff and has the highest battery capacity of any its size. The technological edge that the Bloog possesses is in the switch activates quickly and responsively giving an easy experience and conserving battery power.

The only drawback to Bloog at this time is the smallish selection of prefilled cartomizers they offer. With that said, the flavors they do offer are a much higher quality than just about any other available vendor offering prefills. When you visit the Bloog Subforum you will see the discussion of those flavors but I can tell you the Red, 555 and RY4 are extremely popular.

I would recommend that you get the sampler packs of flavors, tobacco and non-tobacco, so you can find the ones that work for you.

I just started vaping yesterday after doing much research on this site. I ended up buying the VaporKing from Vapor4life. I, as well, wanted a pre filled cartomizer. I got the vapor king kr808 (the e cig with all the colored batteries) with a bunch of pre filled cartomizers. It is a 2 piece and couldn't be easier. I just charged it, screwed in the cartomizer and vaped. Very Easy! My battery lasted me all day long, but I only take a few hits at a time. I got a passthrough for my computer and used that during the evening.
Good Luck! I am new here as well.....

white cloud - ripoff, might be KR808D-1 (not sure)
v2 ripoff (is KR808D-1 threaded)
safecig ripoff (don't know which model)
greensmoke - the unsupported evil twin model KR808D-2 w/ different threading

Batteries should not cost over $20. And a plain color battery like black or white should be $15 or less. And just FYI, the ripoff places also lie about how many cigarettes a cartomizer equals, how long the battery charge lasts, etc.

You want a KR808D-1 at a reasonable price. I recommend manual batteries. Most people here use and recommend manual batteries. BTW all of these a bigger than a cigarette. They are all 9.2mm diameter and w/ standard 280mah batteries and a carto the a KR808D-1 is 120mm long.

So you could get basic KR808D-1 manual 280mah (LiteCigUSA.net in the US charges $10 for a battery and I think under $40 for a kit), or pay a bit more for nice colors at Vapor4Life.com

Here is my adivce based on your list.

The hardest thing to get over from what is on your list ( was hard for me too, before I bought one and understood ) was it needs to look like a cigarette

Here is a tip, the smaller the unit, the less functional it is.

The more it looks like and is the same size of a cigarette, the less vapor, flavor, throat hit, battery life, and satisfaction you are going to have.

Think about that before you buy something... and do your best to lose that requirement, and you will end up happier.

A battery that size has to be charged constantly, while mine only needs to be charged every other day, a e-cig that size has to constantly be re-filled or cartridges topped off, a full cartridge on what I use now will last me most of the day without topping off, and I vape a lot.

And the difference between what I have ( and eGo with a LR cylinder atomizer and mega Cartridge with a 1000 mah battery ) is that it is a lot bigger than a cigarette, more like a medium to small size cigar.

I just started, and was overwhelmed by how complicated it looked to fill your own cartridges. A friend of mine, who had been doing it for a few months, suggested I get a 510-T, since filling literally involves popping the thing out, squirting juice into the cartridge, and sticking it back in.

I can tell you it couldn't be simpler. Here's a video I found to demonstrate just how simple it is: YouTube - Joye 510-T or the 510 Tank in Canada review and first thoughts

Yeah and remember I am still a newb too, 2 months and a few days does not make me an expert. I fell ointo the same trap and almost bought something that would have not worked for me... this forum saved me a boatload of money.

I don’t know if what I use is the best for a beginner... but I can post what I use.

I don’t think you can even get what I used in a starter kit... but you can get close.

For someone that smokes a lot ( a pack a day or more ) I am still recommending an eGo, but for someone that smokes less like half a pack or a quarter ( like my daughter ) I have been recommending a Joye 510 or equal.

I use an eGo, there is a similar knock off product from a very reliable vendor called a Riva, all the parts of an eGo can be used on a Riva and vice versa

so..... you choose between an eGo-T ( what I actually started with, but don’t actually recommend for a beginner ) or a standard eGo or Riva

they come with 650 and 750 Mah batteries as standard. ( you can find vendors that sell kits with larger batteries as well )

At this moment what I would recommend ( and this is just me, I am no expert ) is a Standard Riva kit from Liberty Flights

E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings

Make sure you press the 20% off button in the upper left corner

get a standard Riva kit, either with atomizers and cartridges, or I think there may be an option with cartomizers but I have no experience with that.

Get some juice to go with it, and try it first before you start down another path on its configuration

For around $10-$12 you can get a LR cylinder atomizer if you want ( will only work with type B cartridges ) or you may find that you like the standard system that comes with the kit, who knows. You might want to get a bigger battery later ( like I did ) but.... you might find that those 750 mah batteries do you very well.

My advice is to NOT spend a boatload of money until you try it... then after you have a few days or weeks experience you will have a whole lot more information on what you might want to try next

Those Riva batteries will handle LR atomizers just fine and you have a standard system that can easily be configured how you want as it is using 510 threads and there is a TON of 510 stuff out there.

Now listen to others here as much or more than to me... I’m a newb too... but a happy one.

( make sure you click that 20% off button…. Makes a difference )

And make sure you get some Juice to go with it

This is absolutely NOT a Bloog clone. After seeing a video review, I ordered one battery and 2 packs of cartos (prefilled and blank) so that I could see for myself. People are satisfied with this product....great for them!..... but it is NOT the same technology as the Bloog MaxxFusion. I'm all for spreading good information....not so keen on MISinformation.

Bloog, from what I understand, now has a Canadian affiliate. If you visit the Bloog forum here on ECF, Pucknell, you will find the link in there somewhere.

smokeless image is the same as bloog and a better way to go ...I am such a fan because the service is so much better and the product is cheaper and they are the same design!

They are absolutely not. Based on your video review, I ordered a battery and cartos. It's fantastic that you are happy with that product, Eli, but you are misleading people when you say they are the same thing.
