Looking for clarity regarding steeping

I received my new batch of juices, and as some people here predicted, they were a bit "flowery"in aroma, and the few I tried all tasted roughly the same. I set them up with the cap off to let them steep, then came back here and started searching for more info. A few questions have come up along the way.
1. Do I have to remove the drip cap too to effectively steep?
2. If I leave a bottle closed and put it away, will it still eventually steep?
3. When will I know that the steeping process is complete?
4. Does it make a difference where I leave the bottles to steep? I have my area out in the garage which stays open most of the day. Weather here is around 70° and fairly humid. Typical for spring in the houston area.

1. No...I steep with the cap on, and shake every couple of days.
2. Yes...2 weeks is a good baseline to start.
3. Taste it every week...you will know.
4. You want to store it in a cool, dark place...I keep mine in a container in the closet.

BTW...they call it steeping, but it's really more diffusion...proper mixing of the ingredients.

I try juices when I first get them and vape the ones that taste good. The ones that don't just get capped up and put away for a while. I'll try them every week or so to see if they've steeped enough. Some will darken when they age, and that's ok. You're supposed to keep juice cool but not cold. I don't worry about it and just leave them at room temperature.

Steeping?

Yet another ECF term that I am running into the first time. So, is it that when you order a flavor of juice, that it is usually mixed at that time - and it has been determined that it best to let all the ingredients diffuse through each other?

I'm thinking the part about leaving the cap off, is that to let the more volatile agents evaporate out? (Volatile is probably not the best word...)

Some people feel that letting oxygen into the bottle helps the steeping process, that's why they leave the cap off. I don't bother. I just put it away for a while.

I always keep them capped and stored in a dark place. The only thing that I steep is tea.
