Hi guys thanks for any help.
I have been doing as much research as possible today on pvs. I broke down and bought a blu disposable to try it out today at Walgreens. I have seen many recommendations on larger pvs(such as the ego) but am looking for something a little more portable(work outside) As far as I see the most recommended are the 510 and k8.

Any recommendations on brands, I want something I could comfortably fit in my pocket, the recharging packs seem to be the most convenient thing out there, and convenience is definitely one of the top priorities other than quality and price. I would be looking for something I could go all day(8-12) hours with hopefully all of what i need in my pocket, batteries and refils(1/2 to 1 pack a day smoker).

Other than the brand, as far as ease of refilling(flavor and brand recommendations) what would you recommend tank, cart etc

How much should I order so that I am set for a month at least?

Thanks again.

I have owned and used kr808's and 510s. I still own and use Joye Egos, Rivas, Kgos, e-powers, and 5 VV mods. I've used probably 30 or 40 different attys and cartos.

If you want a good, affordable and simple vape, get a kit with a couple of Rivas or Kgos. Use simple single coil cartos. Boge 2.0 ohm and the smoktech 1.7 ohm are both good. You'll be set for a while.

Edit: 15 cartos should be good for at least a month. I get about 3-4 days out of one . Some folks get much more. Some, (my wife) use them for only one day each carto. YMMV

Welcome. I use the volt (k8) and use the Mega v2 PCC. I have 2 batts both 65 size. This works well for me. I go thru about 2 cartos per day. I have never run out of battery in a day. I recommend getting the kit with the PCC and all the sampler packs. Once you find a few flavors you like, go ahead and do a month order. I started at 18 mg and needed 24 to finally quit - this forced me to make one more order than planned. Good luck man.

I second the above. The kGo/Riva type is a 510 about the size of a Sharpie marker. It's portable enough without having to carry 5 or 6 batteries to get you through the day or carry around a portable charger. You will vape more than you smoked. Little cigarette type e-cigs have serious limitations due to their battery capacity. A larger battery holds its voltage longer and will provide a good vapor for much longer than a bunch of smaller batteries that total up to the same size. A kgo battery is 1100mah. You should be able to go 6-8 hours without recharging and without losing vapor quality.

You can use any kid of juice and any manufacturers cartomizer. You won't be stuck with one companies flavors or cartridges. You can get juice samplers wherever you want.
You can use a low resistance cartomizer, like the 1.7ohm resurrector for maximum vapor production. This would kill a little battery.

For about $45, you can get a kGo kit that includes 5 cartomizers. Trouble free and easy to fill. There are other tanks, clearomizers, etc. that you could use later, but the best bet for you at this stage is stick with cartomizers. If you pick up another pack of 5 cartomizers with your kit (for a total of 10), you'll be set for at least a month.

If size is all important and you don't mind frequent recharges and lower quality vapor because you only smoked less than a pack a day, and if you don't mind spending more in the long run, get a Volt. It's the best of an otherwise sorry lot. Otherwise, get a kGo or an e-Power. If you aren't dead set on a little tiny e-cig, and you smoked more than a half pack a day, nearly all the veterans, who have been through all this already, will recommend the kGo/Riva type of 510.

I'm constantly on the go... and the Kgo/Riva/ego-type everyone else is mentioning is really where you probably should start out. It's a little larger than a cigarette, yes (about the size of a Sharpie, as others are saying), but the battery life is a LOT better than the cigarette-sized variations out there, and trust me, the last thing you want is for your battery to die on you when you need it most. :D

Liberty Flights has a great Riva 510 starter kit that's well worth the money (it's $37.49 for the Special Edition kit). Note: this is 650mah batteries rather than 900's or 1100's, but for the price, it's great. (You can always buy 900's or 1100's later.) It comes with two complete ecigs plus your assorted and sundry charger components, 5 blank cartomizers (you can get juice either from them or from one of manymany dealers online), a couple of atomizers, etcetera, etcetera. In other words: it's a complete and very basic starter package that will serve you quite well. (And you can save more off of that price by using the code 'october20', which will get you 20% off of your order on top of it already being a great deal.)

Welcome to ECF & congratulations on your switch from smoker to vaper! Couple of things I want to mention. First, the terms "510" and "KR808" actually refer to the threaded connection between the battery (or switch) and the atomizer or cartomizer. This can be misleading because these terms are also often used to describe cig-sized PVs and, indeed, most KR808s *are* cig-sized, more or less. The 510 thread size is more common, especially on larger PVs & mods, so there is a greater variety of attys & cartos, tanks & assorted gizmos to fit these.

Second thing, if you're interested in a good deal on the KGO starter kit with 1100mAh batteries, I believe they are still available here: SLB KGO Starter Kit These batteries would have a lot more life between charges than the 650mAh Riva batts in the kit Ladypixel mentioned above, but I presume they'd have to be quite a bit larger as well (because they gotta keep that extra power somewhere, right?). In view of that, and your need for portability, the Riva might be a better choice for you. (I haven't actually seen either of these live & in PV, and am forced to base my conclusions upon contrasts between their specs & those of my E-Power 14650, which is electrically in the same ball park w/1050mAh, 3.7v)

Best of luck & Happy Vaping! :vapor:

Welcome to the forums!

Great job making the switch. I will toss in my vote for a Riva/kGo style. They get much better battery life than a "cig"-sized model and you can use Lower resistant cartomizers which will in turn give you much better vapor and flavour.

Since you're in the US, I would recommend FSUSA or Rawr Vapor to get your juice. They are both top-quality vendors and have great customer service.

Best of luck, and Vape Groovily :D

I think you have a few good options for portable, last you all day, with everything in your pocket. Everyone suggests an Ego type variant, and for good reason as they're the smallest step up from the cigarette looking PV's. Most of them have a 5 click off feature so you wont have to worry about firing it off in your pocket, and the batteries range in duration from about 6 hours to 12 (of use).

If you want something with a PCC (charging case) that also has room for extra cartomizers and such then you have a few good options. One is the Joye 510; the PCC looks close to a pack of cigarettes, and holds a good deal for someone who is going to be out and about all day. I'm personally partial to 510 threading because it leaves you open for a wide selection in the future, and it's easy to find cartos and different PV's that will allow you to interchange without anything special.

As for the Ego, size, and such.

I use an ego at work when I want to stealth vape, so the smaller egos are...small lol. Also, take ego as more a style, though it is a brand of sorts. When I say ego I speak more of the style, so ego/kGo/Riva/whateverGo.

I've been using a regular Ego kit with dual coil cartomizers instead of the stupid atty thing and it's been awesome. The batteries and the carts last sooooooo long. I've been using the same four batteries since last summer and they're still going strong. The charge lasts for 1-2 days for me, and I refill every 1-2 days as well. No leakage. No complaints. :)
