So it's tax time here in the US, and I'm getting a reasonable refund. This is not a discussion of whether or not I'm filing correctly.
As with most years, I'm looking to get myself something that will hold its value reasonably that I will enjoy using (in previous years it's been Nikkor glass).
Looking around and emailing vendors and manufacturers I've become quite impressed with the look of the GUS telescopic mods. GUS is also really quick to respond to emails, within minutes in my experience. That makes me want to support them.
But I have a couple questions for people who have either a Lord, Kiss or Estia.
First of all is the stupid fuse thing. Not a fan of that design (I'm not really worried about it, I have plenty of 30ga. I just think it's annoying). But if I get a hybrid Estia, does that bypass the fuse? I'd also be interested in seeing what people though of the draw on a triple-coiled Estia, compared, let's say to a nautilus or an early kayfun. It seems like it would be pretty open, but I'm currently running a TOBH clone wide open so.... yeah.
Another question I have is about the machining on the mod tubes themselves. They look like they could potentially be very rough in ones hand, but I'd like to believe, for the price, that wouldn't be an issue. Another mod question is the switch. Is it magnetic or spring and how does the lock mech work?
Thanks for any info you guys and girls can provide.
