I'd recommend a cheap K100 Empire clone, what really matters when you go sub-ohm is the quality of your batteries. I usually go with Efest 18650 30 amp high drain batteries. And for an rda I'd probably start with an IGO-W because first off it's cheap but it's relatively easy to build on and you have the option for single/dual/quad coil setups if you would like down the line.

i have a couple of the purple efests but i don't use them on anything lower than .6 ohm builds. if i am not mistaken they are rebranded LG 20 amp batteries. i just feel a lot better sticking to the Sony VCT5's. best of luck.

30 ga is nice, thick enough to be easy to handle, you can build sub-ohm dual coil easy, or 1.5-2.0Ω coils also. I use it for everything I build.
Also..easy enough to twist....gets it acting like 28 or so with the benefit of extra surface area. I find it very easy to work with also.

I like 24 gauge for dual coils under .5 ohm, like the Igo W on the left. (.16 ohm dual 24g) And I like twisted 28 gauge single coil for .5 ohm or higher like on the Igo L on the right. (.5 ohm twisted 28g) I only use the Sony vtc5's and have never had a problem. +1on the K 100. Very cheap, with great performance.

I checked out a nemesis clone in my local B&M, handled it, tried the threads and switch, durability of the 510 connector....and I'm sticking with my K-100....:vapor:

The nemesis is smaller, prettier, lighter, but doesn't seem sturdy enough to survive me....

I know what you mean Stosh. The good thing about the Nemesis is the 510 end screws on so when you drop the mod the top part does not move. I've had to give mine a whack a couple of times. OTOH I've almost never had my K100 fail to fire in the year I've had it. The Nemesis clone has a few times and I've only had it five months now. It's just a bit more finicky, but it is tougher than it looks :)

Sooo, would you guys be more likely to recommend the K100 or a Nemesis clone for sub-ohming? I was told by one of the employees at my local B&M that the Nemesis clone is the way to go and I heard a lot of people shopping talking about their Nemesis (all good things) so I am a bit unsure at this point....

you couldnt go wrong either way. the k100 is going to be cheaper than the nemesis clone. thats why it has been recomended. at this point it really comes down to is how much you wanna spend

The only reason I recommended the Sentinel clone was because it was the least expensive mech I could find on Fasttech. I have 4 mechs, I bought a new Magneto to start with. I then bought a used EHPro EA mod clone. Then, in one night, at a local vape meet, I won a SS King clone and a K100. I may decide to sell a couple. The funny thing is, the K100 works best with my Smok Kick. I don't have any mechs that will hold an 18650 and the Kick. The King clone has a Kick ring but, I guess the Smok Kick is too long.
