I only 'complained' because the comment about how fast I complain. It was a little tongue in cheek but I did make sure that the points I made 'complaints' of were actually valid points.

With regards to the PCC, I can not say for sure that it will charge 4 completely dead batteries before it runs out of juice on its own. I have never run my PCC down far enough to even see the indicator that lets me know the case needs charging.

What I can tell you with certainty is that the battery inside the PCC is a 1300mAh battery so it is pretty large for the purpose of charging batteries that typically only have around 150mAh ratings. I know this for fact because just yesterday I had my PCC disassembled on my desk and the battery itself is actually marked to indicate the size.

hey thanks,

ive slowly been reading the Blu review, im currently on page 30 after reading every page, seems like a great product. this is what im thinking.

im thinking of buying the blu or a comparison, then if my dad likes he will go for something stronger because he if it likes it he will most def buy it, i want the screwdriver for him but i have bills to being younger, the blue seems like a great price. granted im not all the way through the pages i have not yet made up my mind.

my quest here in all reality is to get my dad to stop smoking. with my gfs dad just having a heart attack he had to quit and it makes me worried. so i was thinking of just avoiding the super strong 36mg nicotine hit, and maybe get the second strongests and perhaps he would slow down.

but here is my other question, now i want your personal opinions here. is the e cig really more safe? without knowing too much i would think so since cigs have so much other crap then nicotine. thoughts?

I'm pretty new here but have some experience with the blu. I got one of the first :D It's fantastic for travel, and yes it will charge a battery 5-6 times before the pack needs recharging. I love it because its easy to fit everything in my purse. It is (as far as I can tell) an 8084 which truly is the same size as a real cigarette. For me, it was the perfect introduction to vaping, because it appeased the fear of really giving something up. The batteries seem to last about 1/2 hour to an hour with heavy vaping, but they charge in about 45 minutes. The carts might equal about 2-4 regular cigs. The flavors are quite pleasant, but I don't think you can really appreciate them until you get some taste buds back. (Again, my own experience.)

All of that said, I also purchased a DES901b. It gives more vapor, and (I think) a better flavor for purchased e-liquids. (I've refilled both using TW juice and it just tastes better in the 901. My own home made juice tastes similar in both. I have no idea why... perhaps the glycerin...) The batteries and carts last significantly longer than the blu, (tho I've killed an atomizer already on the 901 and the blus are still perfect.) The atomizer on the 901 does seem to burn much hotter.

I've read/seen reviews on the 510 (Joye 510, Janty DuraC, Yeti, Titan) and I think that model will address the few issues that I have with the 901. I really like the idea of a sealed battery although I haven't had any problems with leaking on either model, and I like the concept of a manual switch. (I really want a super easy draw and some more consistent throat hit.) I've ordered one and am hoping it will arrive this week.

Overall for a person wanting to try this out... especially if they are still sort of unsure, the blu with its pack, plus charger, plus the 25 carts for the price AND it's similarity to an analog cigarette in FEEL, will go a long way to convincing someone that this really CAN be an option for them, before overwhelming them with 20 zillion batteries, atomizers, carts, bottles, juice, etc. Once were hooked tho, the sky is the limit, and smoking becomes not just an addiction and a habit, but a rather pleasant hobby with constant upgrades. The blu is fantastic for what it is... I do love mine and will continue to use it... but I'm glad there are some higher powered options :D

I'm really looking forward to hearing more about the Janty Stick... as I think that will be my next device :D

Hope this helps some!

intheBOx,

I think it's wonderful with what you are doing. I've been a smoker for over 30 years and on the verge of COPD (so my doc says). I did not try e-cigs to quit, I was just tired of going outside and freezing or braving whatever weather issue is going on. Now they let me vape in my office, which is great and they get more work out of me too! I have not totally given up analogs I have one or two with friends on occasion but more and more I come back feeling like a I just licked an ashtray and I can "smell" myself....yuck. Thats the thing although nobody can tell you e-cigs are healthier, many can attest that breathing is easier and your sense of smell and taste comes back. I started with something cheep to see if I would like it (when ebay sold them) and saw the potential now 700.00 (still cheeper than 40.00 bucks a carton every week) later the 801 (penstyle), pass through, and a battery pack with plenty of juice is how I get by. I'm waiting on my Janty stick so I cannot comment there. I have been eyeballing the prodigy it looks very simalr to the screwdriver and will be manufactured right here in the good ole USA (that's what I like about it anyway). I think you can't go wrong with the Janty, they are a little bit more pricy but the duration of the quality is there and the benifet of a decent warranty. Juice flavor is always a subjective matter and I have tried allot of different ones but tend to go back to french pipe, any of the colas, and clove. egads, this turned out to be a lengthy encouragement note, I know your dad will appreciate your ground work, parents are a special breed and its nice to see they are appreciated before it is too late. I know this first hand. :thumb:

Right Here, Right Now!
hey anyone know where the screwdriver or prodigy is in stock at??

my been bringing up the ecig thing to my dad little by little and from what i understand he like the screwdriver look at the less he has to mess around with liquid and such the better.

any input in the 901?

I do like my 901, but it goes through carts like no other. I started with my RN4801 (super mini and also called a lot of other things) and I mostly use those since, for me others have different opinions, they have good battery life I use about a battery a day sometimes 1 and a 1/2 and about 2 carts. If he doesn't want to mess with juice then you can find factory filled carts online for good prices. Just check around and don't get locked into buying a branded PV since most of these are all made in the same factories then companies (like janty or Njoy) put their labels and packaging on them. Good luck!!

For a heavy smoker like you said your dad is I would definetly go with a Screwdriver , Prodigy , Janty stick or get someone here to sell you a magnum or battery box mod . The throat hit and feeling from these is much superior to a regular ecig altho when out and about I really think that the intellicig Evo (M401) is a great e-cig . Blu to me seems to just be a re-branded 510 but if the price is right go for it . but with all the hub bub about blu on here I think something might be up , but don't quote me on that as I have never used there product . Good luck!!
