I have been vaping for a while now. I have been smoke free for a long time as well. But the cost of ordering e-liquid has been taking a toll. So I would love to be able to make my own e-liquid. Any where else better to learn from the masters reading this post.

I have a few questions that I would like to clear up and would love to hear some step by steps and some reputable places to order my products.

As far as QUALITY VG and where to buy from. I have seen several videos where they are using the same product my little girl uses on her skin for eczema. You can buy it from Wal-Mart. But, I was hoping that I could verify this before I start using ANYTHING without just cause. And I don't want my wife to look at me like I am a nut either. She vapes too, but I think if she know the same stuff she uses for our little girls skin may freak her out a tad. And I don't want to do that if I can avoid it.

And of course I would like to order QUALITY PG, Nicotine AND flavorings for mixing.

Finally a reputable place to order these products and a website of choice for logging the mixes.

I know its a lot to ask, but you can just reply to one of the questions if you feel it would help.

Thanks Again ECF, you have always been there for me since day one!

Best advice that you will receive is to read all the stickys at the top of the DIY forum, and read up on blogs here about it. DIYing is very fun and economical, but you need to see many tips, tricks, advice, etc... and then see which ones, or which combinations of them are best for your taste. What may be you ADV, may be horsepiss to someone else. Its all about what works FOR YOU.

As for the nic, I use Wizard Labs. Good pricing and quality, and as for their packaging ability, a plane could do a flyover and drop it onto my driveway and nothing inside the box would be damaged. (not to mention they usually through in some sort of freebie in the box) :D Where you buy your flavors will again come down to what you like. Read around on here, take the advice, then make your decision.

Good luck and happy mixing!!!

Glad to see another jumping on the DIY train....I personally order my PG/VG online from Amazon in quart bottles. Got one of each out in the cabinet and one of each in the freezer. About $11-12/bottle, very cheap. Nic, I order 100mg/ml from either Wizard Labs or RTS vapers, both seem good quality, have a bunch in glass bottles in the freezer also!! Shop the prices, they all offer sales from time to time, take advantage of it....read thru this forum, somewhere on here I discovered a 20 or 30% off your 1st order post for RTS and that saved some money (for buying those backup bottles)

Need a few syringes, 16guage size, (they have a red tip--also got on amazon--don't bother with the 18guage, about 10mls, that way you can measure more accurately when mixing...I have a few Pyrex glass measuring cups too, really only need the smaller one, but they shipped 3 in the pack (also Amazon) Smallest one is 40-50ml, helpful when adding PG/VG to the mix.

One "tip" I like to add.....when adding your VG to your mix, I pour what I need, usually either 15 or 30 mls, into the pyrex beaker, and microwave it....4 seconds for 15ml and 8 seconds for the 30ml. Makes the VG pour into the bottles like water rather than syrup!!!

I ordered a bunch of Cobalt blue 30 and 60ml bottles (some from Amazon, some from Wiz labs I believe...shop around for best prices there too) I got Brown glass ones too....I "test" in the brown glass and make bigger batches in the Blue...just to keep them separate.

Flavors, ha, read, read, read, and then its personal preference....use the ones you think you can mix best with. Personally, so far, I've only used TFA and FA, but I know there's more and better out there. May branch out to them in the future.

As far as storing your recipes/figuring your mixes %'s....NOTHING beats Breaktru's E-juice-me-up calculator. You punch in what %'s PG and VG you want, type in your ingredients and %'s you want, and the calculator figures up everything for you....you can save them online (on your computer), print them out and put in a notebook, it's perfect!!!

There's lots more to what all you can do, you just have to read this forum, jump in with both feet, start throwing ingredients together, and soon you wont want to buy store bought anymore!!!! Good luck and we'll let everyone else chime in.

There is some very good advice in that post above me and it would also help if you were to give some details on what you and your wife like to vape for example "tobaccos, fruits, deserts, candies etc". The more specific the more we can help you. Do you vape with nicotine and at what strength. Do you like 25pg/75vg for more cloud vaper or 75pg/25vg for more throat hit or a kinda middle of the road 50/50 vape.

May I also suggest some reading.

Read my blogs before getting started

E-Cigarette Forum - dannyv45 - Blogs

then read hoosier's blogs.

E-Cigarette Forum - Hoosier - Blogs

then read the stickies at the top of the page.

this will explain a lot of the how's and why's.

Thanks Danny! As far as my ADV. I typically drip Vanilla Custard with 6mg of nic. If I have my choice I usually use less nic. 3mg to 4mg is perfect. I am a big custard fan when I drip. I have 3 favorites in that category. In order its CLS from Nicoticket, Mr. Rips after a week and a half at least steep time, and my local vendors Vanilla Custard which is Napors Inn out of New Orleans.

The other remaining hours of the day I like vaping Suicide Bunny OB 12 mg thru my Nautilus, AnyVape Davide, Aerotank, RSST or any device that works good. But lately I have been enjoying The Virus from Nicoticket. It's a sweet tobacco blend with hints of maple and its delicious.

I like to drip as you know, but when I start craving my nicotine, I grab the 12 mg for my non drip use. I hope I didn't leave anything out except my wife...lol

She will just grab whatever I am not using and vape away. She like the vanilla custard desert flavors as her first choice.

Thanks again and I will be reading away!

sit down and read danny's blog and then that other guy hoosier (lol he's hiding around here some where) and after you read it do it again just like the steely dan song , at the start you may question if this will save you money or not , it will you just have to invest some cash on your basics first , once you get the ball rolling its easy to go crazy so pace yourself and my tip for the day is on flavors its easy to blow a wad of cash on small bottles that seem like a good deal just calculate the price per ml per bottle and you will see what i mean ( but expect to pay more when sampling to see what flavs you like best)

Here's the biggest tip I could give anyone starting out. Start by mixing a large batch of base liquid (pg/vg/nic) to your desired strength and let that sit a few days first. Then you can go back to that and use it for small batches to add flavors to. I usually make up about 700-1000ml of base (4-6 large bottles) at a time. Then I use those to fill 10ml or 30ml bottles with flavorings added. Good luck on your DIY journey!

If you want premium nic and flavors go here. I have nearly 4 years of DIY expierence. Vapers Tek

Pay attention to this OP :~) ....The nic is great and Inawera has some premium flavors. If you're looking for a vendor that offers a wide selection of flavor manufacturer's you need to look further than WL. Take a look @ RTS Vapes, Onestopdiyshop, EcigExpress etc...this way you can try FlavourArt, Capella, TPA, Hangsen all from one vendor...all these vendors have fast shipping and good packaging...it's standard operating procedure...

I mean where would people like me go if it weren't fore cool muthaf@#kas like you guys to share the knowledge. Really Guys. Thanks A Million. You have pointed me in the right direction, kicked me that way and then turned on the jet blaster with knowledge, sites to go, what not to get, what to get, what to be cautious on, what to always stay away from, the budget side.......I could go on...So thank you. I actually stopped at my sister's house this weekend and told her I was going start mixing my own juice and she told me she already has flavorings and VG coming in. She has not mixed before, but she buys all the base 0mg 10 ml bottles and mixes those to her liking or my liking. She is a wizard a coming up with awesome ADV flavors. She made me a custard with all the stuff I like and she added a little butter flavor in there and man its good.....its gone too........but it was good. I need to get her here so she can read and learn all the great knowledge that comes along with the DIY world. I am very anxious to get started. I just have to keep a small budget going as my wife seems to catch me going a little crazy at times with the whole passion I have for anything vapor. So this is a new avenue for me and I want to do it $mart, just like when I first started mechanical mods and building my first coils and all. It took ALOT of reading and a lot of videos and then I just found myself reading and reading and watching and learning and then one day I realized this is my hobby and I love it!
