An often overlooked nice device is the Segelei Telescopic Zmax V3 Flat top. It takes 18350, 18490, 18500, and 18650 batteries. It works well with carto tanks, Protanks(and clones), ego toppers, just about anything, but sub-ohms atomizers.

This is not necessarily the cheapest place, but just linked for reference.

If you look around to buy one, try to get a full kit. Device, batteries, and charger.

Hi and welcome to ECF. Congrats on one week
There's gonna be lottsa suggestions...my advice, if buying a Mod with with separate batteries, is just as important if not more so is purchasing high quality batteries and charger. Many kits have a weak link and that's usually the batts and charger= $$ out the window and not utilizing the Mod to its full potential IMO.
Best of Luck.

Hi im new here and new to vaping. Ive been a whole week without smoking woohoo. I just bought a v2 starter kit and im looking for something better, but when i look at ALL the different set-ups out there it gets a bit confusing. Im hoping to find a good set up under $200. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I started out with a eGo c-twist... moved to a provari, bought an eVic too... then bought a Vamo... was happy, really happy - then my eyes were opened with my buddies K100 he gave me for free (mechanical mod)

The only time I will ever go back to an ego, provari, or evic would be maybe if im traveling, and can't rebuild coils.

I completly stopped smoking one I got my first mechanical mod w/ rebuildable atomizer... I was able to lower my nic level to 6mg also.

I recommend a K100 mod w/ IGO-W RDA... 3mm Silica and 28g kanthal... after you get hooked then you can shell out for the $200.00 mod plus atty

The device that made me fall in love with vaping and stop smoking:

now I rock:

+1 on the Zmax recommendation. Other options include the SVD, SID, Tesla and Vamo.

You can't go wrong with any of those, and the price points are about right for you, after taking into account the need for good batteries and a good charger. Add some atomizers that fit will with the 22mm/0.875" diameter mods and your budget isn't broken and you end up with a nice setup.

K100 Mechanical Body Unit - Gold - with Safey Fuse

Great vendor with great prices and service.

Keep in mind that this is a mechanical mod. There is no means of regulating voltage or measuring the resistance of your atomizer with that system. That's not saying that it isn't great (I'm sure it is) but mechanicals and rebuilding atomizers can have something of a steep learning curve.

I agree with IBCR Media. Mech Mod fires at 3.7 volts. Two ways of upping voltage- buy a VV Mod and adjust the voltage or buy a 3.7 Mech Mod and rebuild your own atomizers/ lower the ohms. Steep learning curve and you have to test each wrapped coil with a multi tester to make sure you've got the right ohms.
Fairly sure the V2 fires at 4.2 volts.

Hello T-oil, glad to have ya here

nice job stepping away from the bad habit-- yeah the learning curve is fast and steep and unless you have yourself
set on those small stick style batteries, I'd suggest stepping up at least to an EGO style battery

here is some links to get familiar with some hardware and what might interest you so at least
you can start to make up you mind... ;)

Surprised not more posts.
Anyways normally the natural progression is usually from a set voltage such as your V2 to a VV or VW PV. Variable wattage is diff from VV in that it reads the ohms of the carto/ clearo and adjusts the voltage automatically.
Most of us use a larger VV or VW Mod while at home and have a smaller VV PV for out and about.
NOT a reco but I use a Vamo at home and the Spinner while on the road.
You'll find some Mods are also a pass through meaning they can be plugged into a pc or wall adapter and used while the battery is charging.
Here highly regarded PBusardo's website:
http:/..................../...Gawd knows why ECF blocks his site. Mentioned it awhile ago and they unblocked it
He has some very detailed reviews and the "Vaper's Glossary" is quite good.

I should have said first, the clearomizers (tanks) hold the fluid, will fit about all (just a preference)

but the batteries:

1] a self contained type that you plug in and charge , or
2] the style you put batteries in (like a flashlight and need a battery charger)
decide which you want to persue or maybe you want both kinds... :)
