Wow, it sounds pretty great. Taste is kind of a deal-breaker though. After I've been through every liquid out there, e-cig, freesmoke, and Jane's liquid, I have happily settled very favorably on the 555 from Jane. Now when I smoke the e-cig liquid (it not only kills atomizers left and right, but it gives off the burnt taste after a week, and there is no cleaning the atomizer of it) it tastes terrible.

If the loongtotem tastes like plastic, that's a huge problem. I really want to order one of these, but I will wait until they get the flavor issue worked out. This seems like a great device. Additionally, I'd love to see a materials list, and an analysis of the smoke like there was in the New Zealand report. This is such a departure from the current device type, that it would be worthwhile having a look at the kind of smoke being produced. On the Club 51 site, it says the smoke is 1% nicotine and 99% water, which strikes me as absolute nonsense. We've established that water doesn't produce the dense smoke, so it can't possibly be just water. A real indgredients list would be useful.

Those pictures of the burnt tissue from the Loong Totem cartridge...
I bet it burnt because the cartridge was used after the e-liquid already dried up. Now with Mixos video at least we know the cart doesn't burn inside while it's moist. Hopefully :)

And now we know why the cut off is short. But it doesn't seem to matter that it's that short it still makes good vapor.

but i dont think the atomiser is made to last that long

looks liek maybe that loong was just about finished? The smoke seemed a bit weaker than the new ones you showed? The cart 'wool' looked like it still had a bit of juice though still- how old was that cigg?

I'm not so much interested in extending hte life of hte atomizer too far- (another day- maybe two would be fantastic in my opinion- extending it just a bit cost-savings-wise) I'm more concerned with killing off the plastic taste with a tastier e-liquid. I'm not sure it can be done, and my suspicion is that the atomizer housing, the cartridge itself, is creatign the taste- perhaps somethign plastic inside is heating up- I just don't know.

If you would Mixos, could you try squeezing out one of your other e-cigg cartridges and dripping some inside hte loong & see what happens? (maybe do this one a loong that is almost used up so you don't waste a good new one) I think this one issue- the taste, is what is putting us off buyign the device. My SmartFixx Mini is terrible tastewise (and doesn't last for even 2/3 of a pack of Ciggs either)- If you could manage this, I think it would be a big help for htose of us thinking about takign hte plunge

Just an update guys
I have spoken with the people from loongtotem via msn, they were very helpful indeed, i have placed an order for another 50 cartridges, of which will be a assortment of the various flavours that they have available (becuase the ones i have now suck) . I choose to go directly threw them seeing as smoke51's prices are so highly inflated. I recommend if you want to order this product go directly through loong totem as they are very helpful (even with the language barrier) and very fast to ship the item (my v9 was sent last friday and arrived on the tuesday).

Also later tonight i plan to take apart another atomiser and will take some better photos of the insides.

That $50 shipping from lloong htough is a killer- it's a shame a company as irrespectful as smoke51 is the only US supplier. I once had internet service htrough a company where the owner was a complete jerk with a mouth as foul as smoke51's- the dude was screaming at me over hte phone when I called to quesiton a charge and drop their service- I simply can nort stand people with mental issue like that!

Great video by the way- extrememly helpful- that certainly can be refilled- no doubt. I think squeezing a cart from another ecigg might just help the flavor for ya- I can't see any reason- judgign by the pictures, why htere should be a plastic taste- nothign plastic is toughing the atomizer- I'm thinking it must just be the flavor of the 'wool' or juice-

But it kind of defeats the purpose of the design to refill it instead of replacing it.

Thinking about it cost savings-wise, if you could extend one cartridge for 3 days by refilling it (Mixos said he got two days off one cartridge- might be able to stretch that one more day by refilling it), 50 cartridges would last 150 days (provided none of hte atomizers are dead on arrival) That would be abotu 5 months worth of smoking for $100 plus $50 shipping- that would be an incredible savings over regular smoking. Concidering htose of us who buy cartridges for our penstyles are paying abotu $100 per month roughly for 100 cartridges and have to use 2-3 carts per day, (plus are forced to buy atomizers and batteries & such) the loong would be a tremendous savings for one year- even if with failure rate of some loong atomizers, I fugre it would average about 4 months roughly for 50 Carts IF we coudl extend thel ife of one to 3 days- it would amount ot about $300+ the initial $250 for hte kit

I refilled a cartridge. It's an easy enough thing to do. The atomizer is nothing like any other normal atomizer and is just a small piece of bare wire rather like filament of a light bulb. I guess when you suck on it the wire is heated up enough to produce the vapour.

It may burn out at some point but that hasn't happened to me yet.

I'm still researching this and won't go deep here, but .. nicotine degradation may be a reason to use and toss e-cigs.

The Nicorette Inhaler I'm playing with has a life of 10 hours once exposed to air by breaking a seal. The nicotine evaporates! What if that applies to our units? As we try to stretch the life of a cartridge, might we end up sucking mostly air? The strength of the nicotine begins to decline as soon as we unseal the cartridge and put it in place.

This much seems certain: Nicotine evaporates faster than propylene glycol. So squeezing old wet cartridges might not get the result we want.

Better to use an e-cig 1 day and throw it all away, no matter what remains. $1.80 a day won't break my bank.

I think that's where E-Liquid comes in for refilling- I don't htink the nicotine evaporates too fast TB as the real ciggs we smoke are actually injected with pure nicotine liquid, and we still get out nicotine highs when smoking packs of ciggs that have set aroudn o nthe shelves for who knows how l ong. Perhaps hte nicotine is all evaporated from old Cartridges- infact I'm almost sure it is as we've pretty much vaporizede the thing to death, but perhaps there's a bit- at any rate, I think it would still be useful to add the juice to some bought E-liquid even htough it will cut down a bit on the nic content, it extends the juice a bit and really, I think it psychologically is enough to just see the vapor- cutting down a bit on nicotine by diluting hte E-Liquid just a bit would actually be a good hting health-wise & we might not recognize the bit of nic dilution too much hopefully- if we're only adding about say 10% squeezed juice to a bottle of E-liquid, I don't htink it will dilute it too much- just start with high nic content bottles

Thanks Phillip- I think that will help my decision some. I'm thinking traditional ecigg sellers are not too happy abotu htis new product- wonder if htey can switch over to sellign htese?

To all- I wonder if adding a cloth to our penstyles will work? It would I think act as a wick which the steel mesh might leech when it's warmed up?

Perhaps Tradition e-cigg makers can created somethign like this with a wire that is enveloped by cloth? Could maybe have the wire hook into a contact when inserting the cartridge somehow? Ruyan? NJoy? Time to reconfigure/redesign your penstyles :)

I agree, Naz. The vapor is important to me. So is the taste, which is why I like using Bickfords in my liquids. But nicotine has a very short half life -- 2 hours in your body, for instance. And less than half a day in Big Pharma inhalers.

Maybe it doesn't matter. I'd still toss the cig after a day, just for the sheer reliability and convenience of it. I'm sick of being busy as a mainlining junkie just to service e-cigs. That's funny, too, cause I futz with a pipe and all the requisite rituals that involves.

Check out this quote I found this morning: "(Nicotine) makes a good insecticide because it only lasts about half an hour in the environment, being so unstable in the presence of air."

And this: "It is very hygroscopic, dissolves readily in water, and rapidly undergoes oxidation on exposure to air."

We get nicotine, for sure. The point is we might lose advertised strength if we rely on squeezing old cartridges for new use, or just leave everything lying out, exposed to air, all the time. I also read that lower temperatures really inhibit nicotine degradation. So my liquids and cartridges will now be refrigerated.

ok- hte loong site is confusing me- there is a "V-9" version, and hten there is hte "LT-V-9" version, Mini E-cigarette - Loongtotem,Mini E-Cigarette,E-sigara,E-Zigarette V9 and the first two when you click on them show cartridges but it doesn't say if the kit comes with it or not, then the third one looks liek hte one I want- does htis come with hte 50 carts? Also, Mixos, did you have ot specify that you wanted the U.S plug for hte charger? Or do you use hte european where you are? Did you get both plug ends? $45 for a battery? Egads! is htis the one your ordered? loongtotem.com Electronic cigarette v9+50depots(ne - Mini E-cigarette - Loongtotem,Mini E-Cigarette,E-sigara,E-Zigarette V9

lol does seem odd but mixos said they were sending him soem different flavors- but I sure dont's see different flavor cartridges on their site

I couldnt see different flavours on their site either untill i started looking in diffrerent areas which brought up this E-Smoking Liquid Type L30 (Bulk bottle, 30ml) - E-Liquid - Loongtotem,Mini E-Cigarette,E-sigara,E-Zigarette V9

"You can also specify the different tastes:

- for the tobocco taste: Light, Regular, Flue-Cured tobacco;
- for the fruits taste: Almond, Apple, Cherry, Chocolate, Coffe, Cream, Grape, Lemon, Melon, Orange, Peach, Pineapple, Plum, Menthol, Strawberry;
- for the herbs taste: Ginseng, Green Tea, Licorice, Rose, Vanilla;
- for the brands: China, Marlboro, Hilton, 555;
- for the vitamines: Vitamine A, Vitamine B, Vitamine C.

There are total 30 different knids of the tastes for all the 5 kinds of the densities of E-Cartridges and E-Liquid, with 150 kinds of selections for your complete choices.

"

which is abit confusing seeing as on other pages it says you have to order a minimum 1000pcs for a different flavour, but as i have said the people there have been very helpful and i will report back about what flavours i got and how they taste, and if u can order different flavours in smaller quantities
