it's dry enough that the paper will burn - it is a design flaw. when you taste the burn - stop vaping or before. It's one of the reasons these have a cut-off - if they didn't the burn would surely come sooner. paper is also inhaled when cigarettes are smoked.

Still this is e-cigs and no paper should be inhaled. In the 15 puffs i took i dident taste any burn. But by the look of the "paper" i still must have inhaled some.

I agree, typically the paper does not burn until the liquid is significantly depleted. you must have gotten a cart where the liquid had not spread evenly is all I can guess. Perhaps the kevlar(?) sleeve was not in place correctly. loong carts are a mixed bag as far as I can tell. Some people say they can use one cart for a whole day. I get closer to 60 drags. Some carts contain a steel wool shield around the element. others don't.

Are these carts coming in the factory sealed inserts in the cart box (like some pills come in) ??

I ask because I know there was a bad hit and miss release of carts in the last month and is supposed to be corrected with the new sealed release ones.

After cutting open many of those releases that did the same thing I found the carts, although moist, they were certainly not as moist as others I had previously received. And if your a long/heavy puffer instead of a sipper it would tend to not wick enough to prevent a drying burn.

Just my thoughts, and I am about to test the new released ones.

stoop - I've been reading a LOT about this model. The generic cart-zers I've been playing with the last week have polyfil inside, not rolled paper, so the issue may be mute.

From what I've read, tho, the common consensus appears to be, break the Kr808d-1's open and add a few drops of liquid (or, slowly drip a few drops thru the hole in the battery side), and let it soak in for half an hour or so before vaping. Seems that there was (is?) a problem with the factory only half-filling them so they're not wicking properly. (kinda like how your cart filler is still moist when you take it out of a 401 or 901 etc, to change it, but it isn't wicking enough to produce vapor).

Another tip I read about was to change out the cart-zer with another one if/when the cart-zer you're using starts to feel warm, and just rotate them so you never get them feeling really warm.

I guess the KR is meant more for relaxed smoking - take a few puffs, put down, take a few puffs more, you're done for 1/2hr type smoking instead of (smokebreak) chainvaping like you can do with 3-piece models. I've been using a cart-zer on my 901 battery with an adapter and haven't tasted/observed any evidence of the polyfil burning. And the flavor is really nice with these things - you can feel it hitting the back of your throat. I've been rotating 5 of the cart-zers for a week now and have been refilling/topping off 3 or 4 times each now. Only one has been tossed so far (and it was never a producer from the git-go).

You can do a forum search and read a lot more on the how-to's.

Hope this helps!

I was in the market to add this device to my collection, would you more experienced vapors recomend I wait?

I'd suggest going for Vapor4Life. I've been using them for months, and have tried several other brands of the same KR808D/D1 model, and they have the best quality cartomizers and best tasting liquid that I've tried yet.

Disclaimer, I just today agreed to join V4L, but strictly on the production/testing/quality control end, NOT on promotions or marketing, and with a guarantee of a wall of seperation between my work for him on production, and my work for my blog, and forum activities.

ANd anyway, my current opinion is based on past through current product, and is the same as I've been saying for months.
