Lorann Flavors Issue

So found a local place that sells Lorann flavorings.

I picked up the following.

Maple
Wintergreen
Butterscotch
Coffee
Keoke Coffee
Choc Chip mint
Prailens and cream

Mixed up some choc chip mint, wicked. Nice flavor.

Mixed up some coffee. Thick and black. That worried me. Vaped some and at first was tasty, now its nasty and I have a headache ...

Mixed up some butterscotch and same thing. Splitting headache but at least this is tasty.

I'm sure on the nicotine levels as i've been vaping flavorless for a bit but these flavorings are worrying me.

Any of them that I got bad for vaping?

Well... the Maple flavor actually has Maple sugar in it. I don't know if it will caramelize on the atty, but I haven't felt it was worth the risk. I guess if you stick to one atty with it you'll know eventually. Also not sure about inhaling sugar. Never researched it.

Wintergreen I believe is an oil, not PG-based. Could foul an atty.

Haven't used Butterscotch. I've used the others.

I gave up on the Coffee... too much coloring, clogged up my 510. The Keoke Coffee is pretty good IMO and worth working with.

I second the Keoke coffee. That one is awesome with a small bit of cinnamon roll added to it.

I want to get something close to Kona Coffee or Cappiccino. Is this good for a coffee flavor base and NOT clog the atty?

Yes the Keoke coffee is one of my main coffee flavorings, excellent! Have not had any problems with it clogging my atty.
Try this to your next 9ml of unflavored juice:

12 drops Butter Rum (Lorann)
12 drops English Toffee (Lorann)
20 Drops keoke Coffee (Lorann)

Rum Coffee Toffee, wickedly excellent.

I've found it fine and so far no atty problems.
To me it's kinda like a kahlua coffee taste, mixes really wwell with other flavor's and whenI mixed it up my liquid isn't that dark ( I've had premixed chinese juice darker)

I think you'll like it, worth getting imo.

I just picked up the Lorann keoke coffee yesterday, along with some Bavarian creme and chocolate amaretto. When I opened the bottle of coffee and inhaled I thought "Yuck!" and haven't tried it yet. After reading this I think I'll try mixing it with something. Perhaps the nose to bottle test isn't a good way of determining how these flavors will taste. Still learning.

I have been using straight vg juice in my 510. So far no clogging issues but it's only been a few days. If you add vodka or some other clear alcohol to cut it does it affect the flavor? Would Brita filtered water work just as well?

Addi,

You can't tell much about a flavor from sniffing the liquid. Many good flavorings don't smell too great in the bottle. You just have to try them.

It's a good idea to always use distilled water. A Britta filter will get out the chlorine but won't do much for the minerals in the water, which will eventually build up in the atty. I suppose the filtered water wouldn't hurt if your tap water is low on minerals, but a gallon of distilled is cheap and goes a long, long way.

Made some butterscotch today. It was a very dry vape. Left me thirsty. Weird

So one thing im noticing is that anything I try appears .....dry.

Normal juice is tasty, moist vapor. When I use homebrew, the vapor seems dry. Even notice a sound difference when taking a draw.

Is this normal?!

My brew is as follows;
VG 36mg cut to 24 with PG
flavor to taste

Not impressed with Lorann so far actually, suggestions?

I've been using Nic in PG so I can't answer the dry question. I did run into problems only adding VG since I thought there was enough thinning with the PG in the nic base and flavor's pg/water especially with Loranns butterscotch, though the banana never clogged the addy using only VG. When I added 20% of the VG amount as thinner (straight 80proof Vodka, but later made that a mix of Vodka & distilled water) the butterscotch didn't clog the atty as of yet. I would guess thinners like Vodka and distilled water would make the vg more moist.

This is what I have heard is the perfect sound wanted on a 510, but about the only time I notice it is with a fresh cart or filler being used.
Atty should hiss and sizzle while vaping.
If it is not, its either not getting juice, or it is clogged and not allowing enough air through.
Most of the time after that I only get a hiss and occassional sizzle until I refill the cart.
Juice not thinned enough will cause it to clog and I think I read some dark flavors will do it.

When it comes to flavors remember that VG decreases the taste of the flavor, thus it takes using more flavor to taste them which also cuts down on the amount of PG that gets added and thinner. Lorann's banana and cotton candy have been my favorites so far, but again that is not ending up with a majority of the base being VG which is where you are at.

Now I have read that FlavourArt you only need to ad 2-5% to get the flavors taste, but one post warned to watch out for the ones that have Diacetyl in them and that information is at the bottom of the page link below. If that low of a % is used it may work better for juices made with a Nic based in VG since using less flavor would allow more thinner or PG room. They are based in Italy, but this US supplier finally has some in (haven't used them yet, but plan too to have samples and when I find the ones I like I'd probably order them in bulk from Italy with a note I have that tells me how to keep from paying the VAT) E Liquid - E Liquid Flavouring

I'm a noob so maybe some better pro's will chime in about the use of Nic based in VG being made into juices.

Never thought of that TJPatt72 about VG possibly being dry or causing vape to be more dry than PG based nic juice.

I really appreciate the suggestion. I do have some PG 36mg no flavor on its way so im going to hold off on more testing till that comes in and see if it makes a difference.

I have noticed, for me at least VG seems drier than PG. (Still like it though as it gives a bit of sweet and lots of vapor)
My lips and mouth in particular when I use alot of vg compared to pg.... I'm constantly drinking and grabbing chapstick with the vg. PG doesn't do me that way.. go figure..
Perhaps try just pg? It may not be the LorAnn's doing it.
