I think I give up rebuilding this. The coils last very long and a rebuild just seems impossible at the moment.
Oh I've been thinking of how for weeks. And I think one way would be to pull the whole drip tip and rest out of the pod leaving you a larger hole. Then knock out the two contact pins that should free the coil and wick. Then pull it out. Then coil a wick and leave the legs very long and have the coil vertical with both legs facing down. And I believe you can fish those two legs through the contact holes. Now you can pull them from the other side and pull the coil/wicking in. The coil has to be far enough from the plastic to not to burn it. Then reassemble.

That sounds about as easy as pulling your own tooth.....thru your nose:blink::blush: One thing would be to use NR-R-NR wires for the coil. One thing I could contribute to the knowledge base is that the plastic part of the drip tip comes loose (one too many falls).

Yes but the rest of it can be removed from the pod. As I have seen pics of someone who did and it is just a press fit. So you are left with a hole in the pod.
I'll venture to say you are right. It would be nice to see a pod with a "removable" window, in the lines of the tanks used in the Billet Box.
My only concern with removing the drip tip is that the little sucker might decide to fall while the pod is in your pocket and you'll end up with one mell of a hess!

    So.... This happened today...

Pulled the cap off to refill, filled her up, got interrupted and didn't screw the fill cap on right away. About 10 minutes or so passed before I realized and....

As you might expect, fluid dynamics and all, the liquid equalized across the chambers until level which left the coil side 3/4 or so filled with juice...

Now, for the part one may not expect... Capped it up, pulled off the drip tip and turned it upside down for ~ a minute to let the coil side drain. Hit the button to turn the wattage to max, took a few puffs, turned it back down and it was like it never had happened. Can't believe how quickly it recovered from a full flooding.. Not saying I thought this would have killed the pod, but I really didn't expect it to recover so quickly.

I continue to be completely impressed by this little powerhouse of a device.

I took a look at the way I fill the pods and just realized that I leave about 1/8 of an inch space, never fill to the top. That may account in some way to not "flooding " the coil for the first few puffs. That was related to what @BillW50 was saying about the coil burning after a refill.

as i suspected and as some said here;the pod needs a redesign to suit more MTL.

also i don't think they'll make higher resistance pods because that would mean that new and old units will have to go through Escribe configuration again and since it's a pod system mainly designed for beginners, they would not expect those to go through it in the already sold units.

Yeah, this pretty much put the final nail in the coffin for me. I'm gonna wait for a version 2 down the road, or maybe someone will do a nice similar version that does higher ohm coils. I just don't think this will suit my need for a tight MTL, especially since Phil likes it more open for me. Too bad, it's a really nice unit otherwise.

I don't understand why people think it isn't tight enough. You can turn the airflow and have it totally closed off (slot facing the fill port). You can not suck anything though it period. You can't get any tighter than that. And you can adjust it totally closed to wide open or anything in between.

And Phil thinks it is suppose to put out 40 watts. No, it is supposed to put out 30 watts with a 40 watt boost. It even states this on page 3 of the manual. And since Phil didn't get one, he could of checked the website. :(
