Sounds like it is just one pod acting that way, right BossLadyJones? Its probably the coil isn't making a good contact inside of the pod. Not much you could do to fix it short of pulling those pins and redoing them again (yeah don't bother, it isn't worth the trouble).
No, unfortunately it’s both brand new pods. They’re from the same package, so it’s possible that I got 2 duds in a row. I have 3 pods total, the only working one was the one that I received the orion with that my boss had already primed up and used.

Not to potentially state the obvious, but... Make sure that the little slider that locks the pod in place is all the way up. I had one where I had to slide it up to the fully locked position manually until the pod loosened up a bit and would lock in place on its own. If that slider is down, it sometimes won't fire.

That was one of my first checks, no dice. I’ve tried cleaning them off as well and making sure that the metal contacts weren’t damaged/out of place somehow. I turned off replay and tried again- nothing, just blinking. It’s so so strange and not one other person has said they’ve had this issue.

Not that

Also make sure that the spring loaded contact pins on the mod aren't stuck down. I'm not thinking that's what it is but it's easy enough to check.
Or that

I’m going to pick up a new pack of pods today and see how it goes. What a waste of money!

There is another possibility. Did the previous owner ever connect it to e-scribe?

If they are technical enough to get themselves into trouble, there is a chance the ohm ranges got messed with and now it won't recognize the pod... I would start by going into escribe and doing a reset to get the device back to factory settings. I'd honestly be pretty surprised if you got two defective pods.

I’m 99% certain that he didn’t ever mess with it. When he gave it to me he said that it wasn’t for him because he didn’t have time to mess with it all and was sticking with his Juno. Now that it’s not 2am, I’m going to mess with escribe a bit and see if he adjusted anything. I just spoke with one of my shop coworkers and video chatted him to let him see and he thinks it’s 2 janky pods too- and he’s just as confused.

Thanks all for your replies! I hooked it up to escribe (which took 3 cords to get it to connect ) and he hadn’t messed with any of the settings. I messed with a few to see if that would get the pods going, which was a negative. I’m fortunate that I work at a vape shop and it’s close by, so I stopped in quick and tested a pod before I bought it to see if it worked- worked fine! I primed it all up and it’s tooting along gloriously. So, I’m happy with my little device once again, but am definitely weary that I had TWO unusable pods. Thankfully, it appears that I am the minority and not many people have had defective pods, so hopefully it’s a one off situation.

I had the same problem with one pod, maybe both in a pack. Can’t remember it was a few weeks ago when while traveling. It’s either not making a good connection to the device or a connection is loose inside the pod. It did work intermittently eventually after talking it off and on several times.

@dansus I'm curious. Would you be more specific about your juice and how you like to vape?
I haven't moved from unflavored yet in the Orion. So, just curious about what I might experience when I do.
Im using a 60VG tropical fruit with WS23, salts and a bit of cdb. Its a lot to ask from the pods tbh.

17w with 2 boost and replay on 2 warmth. Get about 5 refills before the first signs of burnt hits, i can vape through the first one, second time its done.

Yeah I am noticing that anything 15 watts or higher will end up burning these .25Ω pods. And that is with boost off and warmth set at 1. Haven't discovered the highest wattage the .5Ω pods could take yet. Although I don't think I ever taken those up to 15 watts yet.

Thought it was time to have a good look inside. This is a 0.25 pod, the wick is ok, but the coil is gunking up. Its a parallel build and gunks up between the two strands.

Main thing that stands out, is how simple it would be to make a 'proper' mtl pod with a few minor changes. Rebuilding would be a super easy if the pod came apart cleanly.

Just wondering, did anybody try taking the pod apart using heat? I have to wait until one of mine goes south. The first time I used a heat gun. It seemed to work but the whole thing was hot and using a 2 mm screwdriver, though it seemed a good idea at the time, wasn't great at pushing the bottom thru the fill port. Next time I'll immerse only the pod's bottom in hot water.
Using debonding solution made one mell of a hess!
