Thought I’d join in on this thread. Has been ages since I posted. I love the Orion. I find it has amazing throat hit with a 6mg and completely does away with the need to ever own a salt device. In fact I liked it so much I bought a custom tip from mantis minimal. I’ve been through a lot of vaping fads since 2007 but am currently a billet and squonk guy although I do still love gettin low with a mech. The Orion is a keeper and who doesn’t like a solid dna controlled device.

Just got some new pods in and there are some changes. 0.25 ohm pods have a new air chamber like the 1.0 ohm pods and both the 0.25 and 0.5 pods now have knurling on the air flow ring. I am hoping that they will also put the smaller air chamber in the 0.5 ohm pods in the near future. Bought the Orion for MTL but I have not been happy with it at all.

Seems to be the height of stupidity to not put it in the 0.5 pod. The reduced chamber in the 0.25 has made the vape quality worse imo.

I also drilled a small hole (~1/32”) that towards to the coil while completely close the air flow on drip tip. It’s very satisfied for MTL.
I drilled a 1mm hole and it works beautifully. Kicks like a mule though...even at 6 mg. Makes for an ever better DL for me when I open the air on top.
Next i'll drill it lower so the coil gets direct airflow for a bit cooler MTL... :D
    Thanks for sharing this :thumb:

How do you like the new drip tip? What benefits do you think it give to the vape. Does it hold in place well?

That is exactly what I was thinking. Maybe they are using up all the larger air chamber pods and eventually all the pods will have the smaller air chamber. (Wishful thinking here.)

I love it. The benefit was easy to adjust airflow but the new pods have that knurled ring now. Plus it just looks neat. Holds in place great due to the intergrated o-ring that holds the stock airflow in place. It was made by mantis minimal and they also make one with 1 single tiny hole for those that strictly do mtl. I myself use it wide open and enjoy it that way.

I love those Drip Tips. They are very clean looking. Makes the device look classy. I need to pick one up next time he does a batch.

This is the max i get with 1ohm pod, fully charged DNA mod. 3.70v, 13.59w at 1.005 ohms

What were your settings? Boost & warmth? I got a pack of 1ohm pods coming in the mail shortly.

Been playing with the new smaller air chamber 0.25 ohm pod doing MTL and it seems to be doing better than the 0.5 ohm pod.

I just might be in the same boat as ArminF if I can't get this thing to do a good MTL. The GeekVape FLINT is starting to look better every day. Would have bought one already but lots of bad reviews on short lifespan of their coils.

1/32" (0.8 mm) hole with sealed original air port - works for MTL.
    Proof of concept :)

Agree. Works very well, although I prefer a 1.2 mm hole :D

Anyone doing this, careful you dont inhale shards of plastic or inhale fumes from molten plastic (like i did )

I need to correct something. This thing will last me all day... as long as it's fully charged.
I'm not sure why, but when I plug it into the outlet in my room, it blinks for a few seconds like it's charging, then goes blue light like it's charged (which I hadn't noticed before). It charges fine in the living room on the surge protector and plugged into a computer or vehicle. I ordered a surge protector for the bedroom. Hopefully that solves it. If that's the problem, I'm glad it protects itself. I needed a travel surge protector anyway I suppose.
