Soooooooooo as what was mentioned and to get back to the original topic of the thread:

The reason that you don't see any good stuff in the news about vaping, the media loves to spread fear and drama. Good stuff is only thrown in one time during each news cast just to appear friendly. :grr:

Don't know if it was you or someone else... but they said "bad news sells..." - couldn't be farther from the truth in that statement either. Bad news is better than no news according to the media. Even if it's used as a smear tactic.

Twas me. Another thought I had, media gets paid by commercials bought during that hour or so.... Right? I need to start paying attention to what commercials are being played during that time. But damn, that means I have to watch the stupid :censored:

While not directly related to vaping, an article I read the other day comes to mind.

A farewell to The Washington Post

The second is how much better so-called newsmakers have become at influencing what is written and broadcast to the public. In many ways I feel journalistic ventures have become “common carriers,” printing whatever newsmakers say — even if they know them to be untrue or inflammatory — just because the person involved was willing to be quoted and because such stories generate readers, viewers and, these days, hits on the Web.

I think a lot of the fluff science is because there has not been anything like vaping/ecigs that the scientific community could sink their teeth into for a long time, all kids of grant money flying about and for sure every college/university and organization wants a piece of that grant money pie, not to mention their name in print the later of which some want so badly they actually pay to have their studies published for peer review versus being picked up by reputable medical journals.
