Lots of bad news about vaping recently?!?

The main reason there is so much bad news recently is because they passed around the old, used popcorn lung story to all the press and pretended like it was major news. Big score for ANTZ and all those fighting the progress of the vaping industry.

If only there were a way to get GOOD NEWS stories passed around like that. Unfortunately, it takes a major lobby and a handful of the right politicians in one's back pocket.

I think a lot of the fluff science is because there has not been anything like vaping/ecigs that the scientific community could sink their teeth into for a long time, all kids of grant money flying about and for sure every college/university and organization wants a piece of that grant money pie, not to mention their name in print the later of which some want so badly they actually pay to have their studies published for peer review versus being picked up by reputable medical journals.

Could be they are seriously bent for not coming up with it themselves LOL

I often wonder if they waited to see which way the political wind was blowing on this and which side was coming up with the funds, the FDA has committed hundreds of millions for "research" grants on ecigs.

I honestly do not believe anyone thought it would become the major "health" issue it has.

Nah, there's a lot more negative stories in the media than just that lately. From my POV, it looks like a concerted propaganda campaign designed to get the general public to accept the Deeming when it is finally published.

The reason that you don't see any good stuff in the news about vaping, the media loves to spread fear and drama. Good stuff is only thrown in one time during each news cast just to appear friendly.

You would think they would at least wait for the results on those studies, before handing over the deemings to the OMB.

A couple of weeks ago I had 2 ladies at my desk.
One went out for a smoke, the other told me she really wished her friend could stop smoking.
I showed her one of my e-cigs...asked her if she knew what it was...
She said "Is that one of those electronic cigarettes ? Those are WORSE for you than cigarettes !!"
I told her if she really wants to help her friend to please do a little reading and look beyond the scaremongering "news stories" she has heard...and that I have been using them for almost 6 years.

Please understand, the average American.....
- reads at a 6th grade level
- cannot find the United States on a world map
- most likely cannot tell you the name of the current Vice President
- cannot speak a 2nd language (which for many is understandable), but has serious difficulties with their native language.

It should come as no surprise that the "average American" blindly parrots what they hear on television, or from others....whether it is about e-cigs, or anything else. Unfortunately, the dumbing down of our country has been going on for quite some time now.

I agree 100% , it is mind boggling to me just how clueless people are these days , i just hit the half century mark in age so the good news for me is life is more than half over , i welcome death .
