Meet Me in St Louie Louie
In 1961, when that old song first came out, I was at the point in life that I guess would be considered "Coming of Age" .. my Dad, at least the Man that raised me, would retire to the bedroom in the small house we lived in at the time and he'd strum his old Kay guitar and softly, gently sing it .. along with other songs ..

I always felt like the Man held a deep longing for something in his Soul .. I never knew what it was, just a feeling I had .. he never complained, mind you .. he took Life as it came and dealt with it as he could .. he taught me a lot, and even when I discovered he was not my Biological Father, after I began to come to grips with that, I realized I cared for him just as much .. in fact, probably more so .. he was a Good Man and I was treated like I was his own .. I think it takes something special inside a person ..

Somedays, I listen to those old songs that Dad used to softly sing, because I remember them to this day .. and, it makes me happy and sad all at the same time .. if that makes any sense ..

Later in life, a Woman came to embody that song for me .. it was truly, Our Song ..

Don't mean to disagree at all, everyone has different experiences and preferences . . .

However - IMHO - from a number of personal experiences with a variety of different male body types over the years . . . Most of the time, I really have not found a "Hard Body" to be a "huge" problem, especially when cuddling . . .

Just Sayin' . . . ;)

I'll take your word for it (or @Uncle)

"WORD" . . . :pervy:  :pervy:  :pervy:

Then there are some other times too . . .

Good morning all. The high heat continues. 95 on Thursday, 97 yesterday and suppised to be 95 today. Personally I don't mind it too much…if it gets uncomfortable I go inside but the greenhouse gets uo to 100 in the middle of the day with the sun beating down on it even with 80% shade cloth on the roof. I have to mist 3-4 times a day to cool the orchids down.

We're trying to come up with a misting system that will come on autimatically at set intervals. There are tons of options both commercially available and DIY. Misting fans, swamp coolers, water walls.…some expensive some not…some practical for a small greenhouse some not. We're exploring.

We may end up with a small portable A/C unit but that will be our last resort because they are expensive and we're afraid of how much it would cost to run for 3-4 months 6-7 hours a day. And would the low humidity it would create harm the orchids more than the high heat.

Lots of questions. I'm talking with some of the other members of my orchid society about their setups.

I wouldn't use a swamp cooler as they can build up mildew and that wouldn't be good for plants. What about just putting a timer on your misting system?

Good morning Fran, Rose and Bea. Looks like it's going to be a gorgeous weekend here. Only going up to 82 today with low humidity. IT'S ABOUT TIME!! My plants sure will be relieved too.

Tomatoes are all ripening at once so I guess I'm going to have to cook some down for sauce today or tomorrow. The pepper plants did exceptionally well this year. The plants weren't too huge, but they're producing lots of bell peppers. I can't wait to get a peak at the potatoes, but from what I've read the plants have to completely die down. Hmmm, there is a trap door at the bottom of the bag...

Not disagreeing with you at all, a firm, fit, well conditioned body is a delight, but...there is a point beyond which it's like putting your arms around a granite boulder...;)

I speak from 43 years of marriage to a man who was OCD about body building and pumping iron right up until a couple of years before his passing... He had never bothered with any kind of cardiac exercise, had a heart attack, mild stroke and was dealing with severe congestive heart failure, when I finally had to try and convince him that constantly adding more and more weight to the bar for his bench presses would likely result in his death if I weren't there to spot for him should something happen and the bar dropped to his chest, as I would be unable to lift it off of him.

BTW: There comes a time when it is even "TOO BIG" & Developed For "Me" to "Hug" too . . . SO BEEN THERE - DONE THAT . . . Or should I say didn't do that . . .

First - Congratulations on the 43 years of marriage and "My" sincere condolences . . . "You're" so right, matter of fact - IMHO - it does become frustrating when someone does listen to sound advice . . . Especially some "Body Builders" when they believe they are doing the right thing to stay healthy / to look better . . .

Now a question, (kinda of rhetorical) , BUT - Why does it seem that all these fitness and health fanatics are usually the ones who have heart problems, some even major ? Not that everyone who takes care of themselves does . . . But really ? ? ? Being Healthy is not really just heredity, diet, exercise (or lack there of), etc. . . . I know for myself, my health problems (Diabetes/Heart) are mainly heredity, but diet & exercise were factors also and still are, especially given even the other conditions effecting my health now . . . At times, I just think it is going to be a "losing" battle for everyone no matter what anyone does . . . Just Sayin' . . .

    Hola .. :)

Well, Uncle Dan, it is always, eventually, a losing Battle .. .. no matter what we do, the Reaper will come a knockin' ..

When I got out of Basic Training at Ft Polk, Louisiana, I was 160 LBS / 6' of lean, mean Army Machine .. stayed that way for quite some time .. even after I got out ..

My One Pack did not appear overnight, yet took many years of dedication and commitment .. :p
