If it's not too much trouble, please post what it is when you finally get it. As I said, I'm mighty curious.
Just go home from a visit with my GI person. She said the diet is called the Elemental Diet. This is what google says about it,

An elemental diet for SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth) involves replacing all food with a specially formulated liquid diet of pre-digested nutrients (amino acids, simple sugars, fats, vitamins, minerals) for 14-21 days, effectively starving the bacteria while providing complete nutrition, resting the gut, and achieving high eradication rates (80-84% in studies) for SIBO and its symptoms like bloating and gas, usually under a practitioner's supervision.

Here's just one product that popped up when I googled "SIBO Elemental Diet".

Does a big bird also fly around and regurgitate it in your wide open mouth .. ?? Is it required that you be in a nest of some sort .. ??

Or, do your suck it out of a bottle with a nipple, similar to breast feeding .. ??

Hey @Uncle Willie, long time lurker checking in. :)

I had meniscus surgery yesterday. Just before rolling me into the OR the anesthesia assistant and nurses went over a bunch of questions (which had been done earlier but OK). When I said I vaped nicotine, the assistant basically hissed in my ear that I need to stop as it was worse for my lungs than smoking. I turned my head to look at a nurse on the other side of the bed and said 'Funny thing, they have vape shops in hospitals in the UK' and left it at that. The good news is that's about the last thing I remember until I woke up after the surgery, so the anesthesia was pretty good!

Looking forward to being mobile in the new year and losing the pounds that came on in the past 9 months. I thought it was arthritis acting up again, so I did RICE and my PT exercises then tried taking a short walk, but my knee blew up. Rinse and repeat before I finally called an orthopedist. MRI revealed the meniscus tear and the usual conservative course is to head to PT first. Tried that and got bounced out when my knee blew up again. Then had to wait for a surgical consult and getting on his schedule. Recovery PT starts in Jan. and I'm so ready for it.

Sending positive thoughts to @MikeE3 for a resolution to his issues too!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

So good to hear from you. Not so good hearing about your knee issues. Hope the rehab goes well and you're up and about again.

So sorry to hear about your meniscus problem. That sure can mess with your life. Have you taken any antibiotics lately? If you look up "antibiotics and tendons" there's quite a bit of info about it. I hope your surgeon can get you fixed up quickly. I'm sending you positive vibes for a speedy recovery.

Sadly, the meniscus problem was self-inflicted. When I had arthritis problems in the knee a few years ago, PT told me to be careful picking up leaves in the fall - not to do too many bags a day. The brain didn't take that into account this spring when I picked up a full yard bag of small/medium sized branches. That was a lot of squats and the knee rebelled. Apparently, at my age, over-use injury is a common cause of a meniscus tear.

I think recovery is going Ok for day 3. Walking with crutches, partial weight bearing, is easier and I'm at the target for bending my knee at this stage. Follow up with the doctor is next Tuesday so we'll see how it is by then and if he's happy or not.

One more bit of anti-vaping/nicotine propaganda from the hospital was in my post op instructions (emphasis mine):

SMOKING: If you use nicotine in any form you are strongly recommended to stop. Stopping SMOKING reduces the risk of breathing problems and complications from anesthesia used for surgery. SMOKING also increases your risk of infection and can cause delayed wound healing.

Funny that there isn't anything about not SMOKING weed in the instructions. I guess I should be doing that instead. They did ask about it along with edibles and gummies as part of their questions. Sigh.

Wow, you've actually converted him? Congratulations!
I know. I am so proud of him. 186 days smokefree. I think all the tasty flavors of the disposables did it. And of course, I vape all the time and have no plans on stopping.

I hope this might give you a place to start experimenting.
Thank you so much. I did a raspberry one and it was not too good. Then I added some peach and did not like that either. I remember hearing about Janet's Heaven. I personally wish he would just get used to vaping the unflavored menthol that I make. I told him he should buy some, so I would not be under pressure to find a recipe he liked. I'll ask him about this one and give it a try.

Don't even think again about closing this thread. If you do, I promise to hunt you down and twist your arm behind your back until you open it again.

I may have been sparse posting these last month's but I'm here every day keeping up with those still remaining.

Don't make me say this to you again.
Since you have been feeling poorly, I will come up there and help you!

I sincerely hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I did. It was a little too warm to be Christmas here, but I will not complain. It is hard to believe it is going to be the new year. Every year seems to go by faster and faster. Sheesh!

I also miss the ones we have lost, but it feels good to remember them.

Hey Janet, which blueberry flavoring do you use? They had 4 options. View attachment 1035246
I get the Blueberry Wild.

Geez, it's been so long since I've made any juice I had to go look at my flavoring supply. We're starting to get low so maybe I'll make some today. We have a 1/2" of ice outside so we're not going anywhere.

I have been just vaping unflavored that I add my menthol to for so long, that it seems weird to be looking at recipes. Perry bought some Raspberry Ice on the way home today, and it is not bad at all. It was $20 for 100mls. I've never bought any, but that does not sound unreasonable. Still not as cheap as what I do, though. At least this gives me some time to experiment. I am going to make up a flavor order soon. I looked at mine, and they still smell ok but boy, are they old. I am almost afraid to use them.

His four days in the hospital and the new pacemaker are what helped him to stop smoking. He still says he does not feel any different, but he sure smells better.

We are staying in tonight, and I am so happy about it. We have been so busy lately that I am ready to just relax.

The "commitment" ceremony was nice. You could get a free beer or wine (I just got Coke) for 30 minutes, and then you had to pay. I thought that was cheesy. His brother sent out invitations with RSVP's, and there was suppose to be 90 people there. Ended up that 30 people did not show, and he had to pay $50 for each of those who did not show. Sheesh! All this for a fake wedding. His brother told me they were writing their names in the bible. I had to bite my tongue to keep from asking if it was in pencil or pen.

I was not very impressed with the meal, though. It was chicken and mashed potatoes, greenbeans and a salad, but it was all very, very bland. Nowhere near a $50 meal. They were nice enough to give me my second Coke for free because I was not going to pay for it.

I will announce to y'all that Perry gave me a diamond for Christmas. I can assure you it is going to be an extremely long engagement and definitely no "commitment" ceremony.
1laugh.gif
I have told him that I did not want a serious thing, so he had a friend of ours go to the jewelry store and help him. He bought me a beautiful birthstone with diamonds all around it and matching earrings, but we ended up taking it back, and we picked out a diamond. He wanted to make sure I got what I wanted. Of course, I had picked out a little dainty ring, but it was a lab-made diamond, and he would have none of that. I don't really understand, but he ended up getting me a beautiful diamond with clusters all around it and down the band.

Here is a part that y'all probably will laugh at. Perry should have known me better. I told him I would go buy a bunch of purple (my birthstone) clothes, but I could not wear it with any other color. Another one of my little issues. And that is why I ended up with a diamond. It goes with everything.

Just sharing another crazy part of my life. It is hard to be ME!

That's the most interesting explanation for choosing a diamond I've ever heard. I like the way you think! Regardless it was a very sweet thing for him to do.

Geez louise, when is this wind going to stop!! I woke up during the night just in time for the electric to go out. Not sure what made me wake up and how I knew the elec went out, heard a click and it was just too quiet? Anyway I just went back to sleep. It was back on by the time I got up at 6:00. The chill factor here is 17, going up to 30 today. I hope this wind goes away because I have to go to the grocery store.

Spring comes in 2 months and 2 weeks...
