If you needed your glasses to go to the . bathroom..
Yep. It could also be a habit. I've worn glasses or contacts most of my life. Got them shortly after my first birthday. I also had one eye operated on when I was 5. It is wonderful to see! Now I need to go somewhere to see something new! Have passport, will travel.

Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest, but it did not work out that way yesterday. I ended up taking down the chain link fence in front of my house. This land used to be a garden. I always tried to get Dad to take it down, but he would not. Well, there's a new girl in town.

You would not believe how much better it looks. Perry was not feeling well, but he did take his truck and get the posts up. Who puts cement on every post? Sheesh! It felt good to work hard, though, and even though I only slept 4 hours, they were quite sound, and I woke up ready to start again. I still have to do my lot beside me and my aunts' two houses. Her son is in town from SC, and he says he will help me. We'll see.

Hope everyone has a great Monday.

I'm back home from watching our 2 grandsons at our daughters house this weekend. We got to take them to their baseball games on Sat. and Sun. It's amazing how much better they are compared to last year. Not sure how that happens because it's not like they practiced in the off season. Anyway it was such fun to watch them play.

Last night I got a text from one of our neighbors who we haven't met yet. She's starting a ladies book club in July and invited me! How nice especially since she mentioned wine and food. People pretty much stay to themselves so it's been hard to meet people, but when I do they're very nice. So, I'm looking forward to this club. Now I'll know who I'm waving at when I drive by.

Don't have your energy ... this is the way we do yard work now-a-days. Should be quite the transformation by the end of the day.

Yesterday, I went ahead and took up the fence in from of a field and two houses. No more fence on our street. My cousin did cut the poles off and rolled up the chain fence. I started at 7:30 and did everything else myself. It made my aunt happy because she has wanted that fence down for years. Everyone is happy.

After I recover from this spurt of energy, I am going to rent a stump grinder. Duke Power cut down 3 Crape Myrtle bushes at the ground. I told them I could pull them up if they would leave it a couple of feet tall, but no, they said they had to level it. Grrrr

Went shopping with a friend today and did not buy any shoes.

The only thing I bought was a bath mat. That was no fun.

Hope everyone has a nice nite.

I know people in here have been worried about the sudden absence of DavidOck, as I have been. Finally got a short PM from him this evening. He's having a rough go of it at the moment and thinks it will take a little while to recover fully, medical stuff never seems to go the way they claim, but other than that I don't think it's my business to explain the whole thing. The good news is he's on the road to recovery! :)

Thanks for letting us know. I'll keep sending healing vibes to David and hoping that he's feeling well enough to post.

No worries, his sudden disappearance was shocking to me too. Just glad he's on the mend!

I am so glad to hear David is on the mend and look forward to him posting again. He feels more like family than my real family.

Been a fast week. I woke up this morning thinking it was Sunday, and I did not figure it out until Perry told me it was Saturday. Just layed around the house all day.

We were supposed to be having thunderstorms, but they never showed up. Weird weather here. I have one more eye doctor visit next Friday, and I will be done. The peepers are still doing well, and he told me I could have my glasses restriction taken off my driver's licence. That is pretty cool.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

It's a gentle rainy morning with more rain expected today, just like yesterday. We're only going up to 68. We've had so much rain so far this year. I've seen several people power washing their houses due to the mold. I don't trust either of us up on ladders so our house is scheduled in August when the guy comes to switch out our bathroom.

We're going to have our 2 grandsons here this week. They'll be going to camps starting next week. Hopefully we'll be finding things to do to keep them off their iPads so much. Mike wants to help Miles learn to ride his bike as long as his sciatica doesn't prevent that. Miles is the last one to learn and we hate seeing him left out of the fun.

Today we're going to our son's house for dinner for Father's Day. I'm going to try making a new recipe for lemon chess pie for dessert. Hopefully it'll turn out to be delicious so I won't have to run to the store. I'd love to go out for ice cream at our local creamery, but one grandson says he's "not that big" on ice cream. What? Never knew of a kid who didn't like ice cream!

Where's Dave .. ??

hmmm? No daily posts here for about a week and even in the 'Petition' thread no daily posts since last Thursday.

I am really worried about David. Has anyone heard from him? View attachment 1028807

And to lots of others, thanks as well.

Went in for some routine corrective surgery on the 27, deal with PAD. Everything that could go wrong did, and a few other glitches as well.

But systems are now stable, and looks like I might get out of jail and off to rehab early or midweek.

Meantime, just not a lot of energy, but sleep is healing :)
