Yikes - no vape since May 27. You could have a lot of Kayfuns to clean up and put on the shelf when you do get home.

Yes, the usual dozen sitting and getting dusty. I only took a disposable with me for what was supposed to be a 2 day stay, just in case I got caught and they confiscated it. Full pod then, still full.

Totally changed environment probably did help, spouse is convinced vaping was contributory, so who knows if I'll start back up. I do like having my head attached... ;)

I cannot get comfy. We are supposed to be getting rain over the next several days so that might be the reason.

Perry is feeling much better, but against my advice, he mowed my yard today. Heart still beating at 60 bpm, so I guess he is fine. And they say I'm stubborn.

He has to go see a blood doctor now because his platelet count is low. It was low in the hospital, and now it is even lower. I am hoping it is nothing. His half-brother has a low count also. We have a doctor's appt. today that they made for Perry, and we don't even know what it is for.

Guess we will find out.

:w00t: Where have you been all your life!!
I'm not sure. Ken used to tell people I lived under a rock.

He wasn't far off. I do love trying new things.

So glad you are coming home. I think that is when the real healing begins. Rehab may be different, but at the hospital, you can't get anything all day long, and they wake you up all night long.

I think that is great on the vaping. Perry is convinced vaping is just as bad as cigarettes. I am not going to argue about it. I never said it was healthy, I just said it was a healthier alternative. It was two weeks smoke-free for Perry yesterday, and he has done it without getting grizzly. I have always believed men have a stronger willpower than women. Oh well, I think I could quit vaping easily, if I wanted to. I will one day but. . . not today.

Morning, all.

Yes, today's the day I head home, finally.

No kidding, wake you up every 2 hours to see if you're alive...

Same here. Now if I could get a doc or two to sign off ;)

A few months back, I had my feet examined by a Podiatrist since I had been experiencing some off and on pain .. he mentioned that my main blood flow into the feet seemed good, however, there was some redness around the toe tips .. asked me if I smoked, told him no, but that I do vape .. he concluded that he felt the nicotine was causing some restrictions in the tiny capillaries .. made sense

Dropped by the liquor store yesterday to pick up a 12 pack, all of them around here have small slot machine rooms these days .. although I shun these things because I think they prey on poor folk, on a whim, I dropped in a $20 .. spun the reels a few times, cashed out $15 bucks to the good ..

12 pack paid for .. cat ching

My rain gauge said we got just shy of 2" of rain in the past 24 hrs. Sure looks like we're going to get more today but it won't be as muggy hot. Only going to 83.

Glad Perry is feeling better. Strange about the platelets. I've got too many so add one more doctor and more pills to add to the mix. Hope his is an easy fix too.

That's funny about the doc visits. I'm having a hard time keeping ours straight too. As Mike says, we spend more time going to the docs than we do visiting friends and family these days.

I would have thought that capillary restriction would lead to pale toe tips since less blood is getting to the tissues? What about neuropathy? Sheesh, always something right?

Never thought about it, but, then again, I'm no Doctor
I don't know either. Just curious.

Geez, getting older means all kinds of weird things crop up. Mike and I are collecting medical specialists we've never used before and it seems like one doesn't have an opinion about what the others are doing. Feels like we need to have a medical degree to navigate our problems.

Morning, all.

Crazy yesterday, back to the new normal today.

Nic is a known vaso-constrictor, so I have to agree with Janet, makes sense to go white. Hmm. Also, of course, not a doctor :)

I agree about aging and the medical field. Now you first have to see your pcp to get a referral to a specialist who then refers you to a surgeon or other doctor/clinic. Each step requires a copay, waiting for an appt and several trips as they all want to do 'their' lab tests/blood work etc. I gave up recently when it was taking months and they would only refer me to a doc in Nashville. I would have to have a ride to/from with surgery and it was all too complicated.

That actually did happen. They came in and woke him up because his heart had stopped for 20 seconds. Scary!

Me too and it has been that way for a couple of years. They don't know why and don't seem to worry to much about it. Go figure. . .

Ditto. When I first started talking to Perry, I told him I wanted to travel. I guess I should have specified not to doctors.

You really do have to be your own advocate.

Kind of a quiet Saturday night. That's okay with me. We went to the Moose Lodge Thurs. and Friday for supper. The meatloaf was wonderful Thursday and the ribeye we had last night is always tasty. After we ate, we went to a favorite little biker bar. I have been going there for a couple of years. Ken used to take me there and I had met Perry there while I was seeing him.

Oh well, they always have entertainment. Last night, there was an Elvis impersonator. He did not really do Elvis any justice singing, but he definitely had the clothes and the mannerisms down pat.

I took today off. Yesterday, I was sort of bored and tired of sitting around, so I trimmed all of Perry's trees' lower branches. I hate for anything to hit my head when I am on the lawnmower. It was such a hot day, but I had fun and the trees looked good. They have brush pickup, so I hauled it all down the street. I like that too. I have to burn my brush.

I am having a tree service come next Friday to do a bunch of stuff, and I can't wait to watch them. Much better than me getting out there and doing it. I have rented a stump grinder before, and it was hard work. I am having to have most of this stuff done because Duke Power left a pile of logs that I cannot move, and they cut down 3 big Crepe Myrtle's. I asked them to leave them 4 feet tall so I could pull them up, but they said they had to do it flat to the ground. I didn't understand that at all. If it was not for them, I would only be spending $800, but no, I have to pay to clean up their mess to the tune of $900. GRRRR

Money well spent and kinder to my body, that seems to be falling apart. Sheesh! Getting old is NOT for sissies, like Betty Davis said.
