I don't like dropping my woes off here but since Janet let the cat out of the bag. The reason I haven't been around much is I've been dang ill for the past couple month's. Started with Norovirus for a week, then a week of recovery. Then a few days later off to my primary. Diagnosed with a UTI and on anti-biotics for 10 days. 2 days after the last pill the UTI is back. Primary says go see a urologist because a.) unusual for a male to get a UTI b.) really unusual to have it recur.

Urologist puts me on a stronger anti-biotic for another week. Seemed to work. but 4 days after that " it's back! ". Then the urologist scopes my urinary track (don't ask me how he got the camera in there). Doesn't find anything wrong and puts me on an even stronger does of antibiotics for a month!.

Asked urologist about the gut problems I'm having. It's like i'm wearing a belt snugged 3 notches too tight and he says go see a GI specialist. The only comfortable position for me is standing up. That would be fine if I were a horse or a heifer. Laying down is tolerable but any sitting position is extremely uncomfortable. So I've been doing two things this past couple month's. Wandering around the house and spending time in bed with a tens unit on my gut.

GI specialist says my stomach is so torn up from the Noro-virus followed by almost 2 month's on antibiotics.

I've had stool samples, urine samples, blood work, X-rays, Cat scans, MRI, cytology, endoscopy, etc, etc. etc. And too many visits to too many doctors. So far besides the UTI's they've only found I've got too much acid in my stomach so I take a pill for that 1/2 hour before eating or drinking anything in the morning.

I'm finally off the antibiotics this past weekend so I'm being optimistic that I'll stop feeling so bad from their side effects and my stomach may finally start to recover. Although that could take month's so says the GI specialist.

Now back to the regular programming for the lounge. I've dumped enough perhaps too much on you all this morning.

What a nightmare! I hope you’re able to get into GI soon, referrals here move at a snails pace (my dad just barely got a call back from the neurology referral sent in a year ago). UTIs are the worst! My wife had a pretty bad one after her bladder sling surgery back in February, the constant catheter afterwards unfortunately guarantees it. I hope you feel better soon, sending you the biggest hug!

Morning, all.

Cool times may be shifting back to too hot, but only for a couple days they claim. Uh huh...

Thank you!
It’s definitely a much needed break from the heat up here too; I missed the windows being open!

Where's "up here"? Yeah, lots of the country is baking, and the prediction is for a "heat dome" to cover even more...

Hope you do recover, Mike, and quickly. Sounds like absolutely no fun!!

We've been in the mid to upper 80s here, but the humidity is horrible. We had a college kid neighbor cut our grass and spread the mulch etc. while I worked on the weeding. Ugh! The heat and I just don't work well together anymore.

My garden has been suffering from neglect. It's a jungle out there! I discovered a pepper plant I forgot about. There's lots of tomatoes, but not many are ripening - maybe it's too hot? So, I snipped away at a lot of the leaves/branches that were just weaving themselves together to shade and stop any air flow to the rest of the plants. Those tomatoes are probably going to all ripen at once so my food processor is going to get a work out and the freezer will be full to wait for some delicious future meals!

Good morning. It's a sunny day going up to 83 today with 81% humidity. 2 grandsons will be here for the day so it looks like we're going to the pool.

If we’re talking garden jungles lol, look at this mess!
Wow. If I planted melons mine would probably look just like yours. I just have tomato plants that have taken over everything and I've pruned a ton this week. My peas are done so I'll be pulling them. Maybe try planting more in Sept and see if I can get a 2nd crop. There's a few carrot plants somewhere under the tomatoes, but that happened last year and once I trimmed away the tomatoes I still got a good bunch. My cukes never sprouted-not sure why. I'd love to have a 2nd raised garden, but our space that gets sun is limited.

It’s our first attempt at a raised planter and we got too many tomatoes lol… they took over. Then we let the littles pick something to plant and they chose pumpkins, that wasn’t a good choice either but couldn’t say no lol. Now we have pumpkins growing outside our fence and on the ground everywhere! The lone bell pepper plant got choked out, the pickling cukes survived by climbing down the back of the fence lol— it’s a mess. Kids had fun though!

Yeah, but it's a good mess. A friend told me she doesn't bother going through the mess of pealing the tomatoes. She just cores them and runs then through the food processor and then freezes them in Ziplock bags. Works like a charm and so much easier. I've made tomato soup with them and I never want to use canned soup again.

I learned my lesson with the melons. They do take up a lot of space. I'm going to have to rethink how to plant stuff next year, I miss picking peppers and cukes. The tomatoes just choked them out. I'd love to have two raised planters with an arch between them, Let the tomatoes, cukes and peas grow over the arch and the veggies just hang down for easy picking, That would leave the garden with enough room for carrots, radishes, onions etc.

I think it's wonderful to get the littles involved in gardening, Good for you for encouraging them.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend and it is continuing through the week.

They finally came to do the tree trimming and stump grinding. Only took them 2 hours. Not bad for $1700. Sheesh! It does look good, but I asked them to pull their trucks along the fence line since we have had so much rain. They did not listen to me, they put some awful ruts in my yard. I am not sure if I should call them and complain or not. They probably will not do anything. Perry said we can get some dirt to fill them in.

Just another day. . .

My little heart thumping friend has not been feeling well. His pacemaker is working beautifully but he is having some dizziness. I am not sure if it is due to his BP running low or Vertigo. I am going to try to get him to call the doctor in the morning. He is also waiting on an appt. for his low platelet count. I now understand why women find younger men appealing. They are healthier.

I am just kidding, of course. I'll take care of him. I'm good at that. I am sure he will be feeling better soon. He promised me he would not do what my last boyfriend did. I hope he keeps that promise.

A good mess indeed lol! Omg that sounds delicious; I’m just waiting for mine to ripen. That’s a really good idea! I wonder if it’s too late to try and throw an arch in mine in attempts to retrain my rogue cukes back over the fence lol… The fact that it’s grown at all is miraculous, I don’t have a green thumb at all despite my best efforts lol.

I hope everything is ok, I’m sending you all my good vibes!! <3

I’ll never understand the appeal of younger men (or women). Older is always better lol ;)
