Morning, jj. I am never ready for it......every year I hope it will go from autumn to spring. And I have lived enough years to know better....always an optimist! Except when it comes to government.

Morning beachmates

So, I practiced drilling in glass on a wine bottle. It is a slow process but was able to get a hole through it with only a small hairline fracture near the hole. So... I decided I was going to try the glass piece I got to use on my lamp. It was even slower going, and I was really trying to be patient. Made it all the way to the end then it broke!!

Bummed me out real much! I have ordered a different kind of drill bit (diamond tipped bore saw) from Amazon. It is the tip I wanted to begin with but couldn't find at the Home Depot I went to. I have already spent more in glassware and drill bits than I would have spent getting an antique lamp (and taking the piece I need) on ebay. But, hey, I'm learning a new skill, right?? You can all expect wine bottles with Christmas lights in them for Christmas

Some time during my lifetime, I saw someone put tape around where they drilled the hole in the glass. Don't know if this would help. Maybe research it a bit?

Some time during my lifetime, I saw someone put tape around where they drilled the hole in the glass. Don't know if this would help. Maybe research it a bit?

I have read a lot online about it and watched some youtube videos. The tape is mainly to keep the drill bit from skipping when you first start out. I think (hope!) the main problem was the type of drill bit I used. It is made for drilling glass but isn't shaped like the one I ordered. I am often too stubborn for my own good! I will keep trying this until I get it right because I don't like to fail at something (wish my kids had inherited that trait ).

I share him with machine sheds, fishing trips, and snowmobile trips.....not enough of him left for me, much less another woman. The other woman would be calling me, complaining about not seeing him enough.

LOL.....yes, I made sure of that. How do you think I managed to snag and keep a younger man? My hubs' heart is defintely thru his stomach, by my design.

I'd just be happy if DH thought of idea for supper. I always get a "I don't care," and then, "Oh this is supper" with a frown.

The exception is when I make pretty much anything fried.
