Hi beach!

Yes, I'm back, Glam. Cold and rainy - yuck! Did I miss anything earth-shaking?

Campi - don't know if you'll be going back to your vet link and I'm sorry I missed it, so here:

Hey Lisa!! Glad you made it back safe and sound! Did you have any trouble with your ProVari? I had no problem either going or coming... they didn't seem to even look at it twice :)

Love your post for Campi... especially the last picture!

Hi, Tinker!!!! Thanks!

No, no problem at all. I had printed off the first two pages of the manual and put it in the bag with it but they didn't even look in my carry-on. Got a nice pat-down in Athens, though.....not sure what set the thing off; probably a bracelet!

So glad you had a good trip and I loved the pics.

Hey, Lisa:wub:....what a come down after Mediterranean weather....but unfortunately that is what Illinois is known for, along with its corrupt politics. Happy you are back....you and Tink were both sorely missed. You need to back read a couple of nights and see the pics of the spread that the hosts put out at a place Tink and hubs stayed. Looks so yummy.

How about you? Any great meals you would like to share? What was your most memorable day? Overall was it a great trip? The pics sure looked like it was. :)

Thanks, you had some beautiful pictures too!!

DH claims I am a crazy cat lady everywhere we go, LOL. I noticed you mentioned the number of strays in Greece. There were quite a few in Italy too :( Many would not let me get close, but I did manage to coax a few of them out for a rub behind the ears :)

Glam! Yes - when I left it was summer (weather-wise, anyway) and now it's not! I'll check out those pics as I only saw the early ones she posted.

Food? Wine? I was in a food/wine stupor the whole time. A lot of the normal Greek stuff: dolmades, pastitsio.....the incredible salads.....but the octopus was wonderful. They take the legs of larger ones, cook and slice on the cross-section, and marinate in I-don't-know-what, probably olive oil, lemon juice and herbs. I couldn't get enough.

The private wine tour I took a chance on? Best day of I've had in years. The driver took me and my friends exactly where we wanted to go: all the places the tour buses don't go. A highlight was when he took us to a small church with a Byzantine dome that was entirely painted inside with religious figures......and explained that the only music in the Greek Orthodox Church is vocal.....turns out he sings (much like chanting) in his own church. He performed for us.

Brought back wine from Rhodes. It's incredible, and much of it never leaves the island.

Wow, Tink.....amazing. But at least they do not look like they are starving. In fact, they look heathy for strays. Wonder what predators they are exposed to? Or are they pretty safe in the wild? I know where I live, the coyotes make meals out of most strays.

How many did you bring back in your suitcases?

Most are not skinny, which is a good sign :) They are very small cats compared to American cats. I couldn't determine if it was because they were all fairly young or if they just have smaller cats.
DH wouldn't let me bring any of them home :glare:

Lisa....sounds incredible!! Way to go, girl. The private tour was something I would have loved also. And, I love Greek food...but I love all food. When we visit daughter, sometimes we go to Greek Town in Detroit. Not the same, but probably close. Wonder why the Rhodes' wine is not so well known. Maybe not marketed since that costs a lot of money.

I am so glad that it was fun for you.

I refuse to think of Christmas! Oh wait....we do not do presents any longer. :rickroll: So I don't hate it any more. :)

I know what you mean. It stresses me out. The gifts should just be for children. I don't want any more stuff. and I really can't stand the marketing push starting before Halloween!

We get one thing (little thing) for son & DIL and DD and SIL. Ohterwise it's just for the grandkids.

We go to DD Thanksgiving and we have them done by then. Got DD and GD pretty much done already so it's just SIL so we are trying to think of something for him.

Time to get ready to head out the door so CULz.

Summer is my favorite season of the year. Thanksgiving-Christmas is my favorite time of the year for both secular and religious reasons... I enjoy all of it. Put up the Christmas tree on Black Friday and take it down on 1/2/?. Among the adults we do exchange gifts but on the small side... all of the attention and gifts go to my 9 year old niece who also also a Christmas baby (born 12/29). My favorite saying from her is: "It isn't my birthday until we have cake.":)

Aloha Lisa, Sun, Terry, Camps, Glam, Jade, Tink & Pepper! :wub:s & :)

I'd just be happy if DH thought of idea for supper. I always get a "I don't care," and then, "Oh this is supper" with a frown. :grr:

The exception is when I make pretty much anything fried.

I say "I don't care. Food is food." but no frown. :D

And "hey" Jag, when you get here!

Aww...
