Good afternoon Beach :)

Coors, if I might offer some advice here...I have Spring Break from MBV, 12 mg, 50/50. I would recommend a single coil device (the iclear is a dual coil device), at a higher resistance (think 2.0Ω or so). The higher resistance offers a cooler vape, and some of the MBV fruits don't like the higher heat of low resistance devices. At least that's my experience... Oh, and if you ever decide you would like a white sangria flavored vape, get some of MBV's White Wine and mix it with the Spring Break. It won't be an All Day Vape for you or me, but it is an interesting change of pace :)

Sorry it took so long to get back i was hard at work all night.

But ill take all that into consideration. I feel like i dont have enough equipment to test these kinds of things out and figure what works best. I also got the freckled lemonade from MBV and ive been vaping it from the nautilus i just got. Same itchy throat hit but its just not as thick.

How was everyones night?

I know what you mean about not having enough equipment. I had the same problem starting out, and I decided to try lots of things. I ended up buying one or two of several kinds of devices...cartos, top coil clearos, bottom coil clearos, etc. Unfortunately, it's really the only way to know what works for you. I now know that I'm a single coil, bottom coil guy...I don't like dual coils or top coils. A really great way to test juices is to get a bridgeless 510 atomizer. I have several, dedicated to flavor types. I have one for fruits, one for menthols/mints, one for sour flavors, and one for anything else. Buying some of those are a great investment, IMO, because they really do deliver great flavor. I would prefer that flavor all the time, but dripping is not convenient to carry around.

Okay, I'm really really gone this time. Have a great night everyone! :)

Yeah thats on my list too. The never ending list haha. But when i order them ill definitely do what you do and get a few so i dont taint flavors (im assuming thats why you do it) any recommendations on solid attys on the cheaper side?

Goodnight stone!

Corey,

Now you are saying Itchy Throat. This is the first I've heard (seen) you say that. It's possible that you are developing an intolerance to PG. 50% PG is enough to bring it on, if you are one to be effected. I was able to do small percentages at first, until I won some halo juice, which has an extremely high PG content (80% and more). That juice, after two days of using it very slightly, because I didn't really care for it but wanted to give it a chance, made my arms turn red and break out in red bumps. It's odd that it only effected my arms, but that's what it did to me. It also made me very jittery and anxious. I stopped using it and the problems went away quickly, but every time I do PG of much quanity now (15% will do it), it comes back with a vengeance. I'm too scared to try to use flavorings in a PG base now. I wouldn't even want only 5% PG in a juice now.

People with a PG Allergy, they call it, can be effected in many different ways. Maybe throat irritation is what's happening to you. That is not an uncommon way for it to show up. So watch to see if all of your 50/50 juices are doing the same thing. It could just be something in the flavoring/s of a particular juice that don't agree with you.

Also, the Nautilus is a dual coil device, too. So getting the Bridgeless Atomizers may be a good way to tell. You should be able to get them in around 2.4Ω, which is standard resistance, and I'd say try not to get less than 2.0Ω, just to be on the safe side. You can always adjust the VV/VW to develop flavor or vapor or throat hit. And if you really like those Atomizers, they make Atomizer Tanks that keep them wet the same was a Carto Tank works.
I know, right?... more stuff for that ever growing list.

If you haven't heard this comparison, PG is better for throat hit (TH), while VG is better for more vapor. This is why some like the 50/50 blend, to get some of both worlds. The greatest complaint about VG is dry mouth, but this is a side effect rather than a medical condition. Allergies (and/or intolerances) or more common in PG between the two types, but there are a few people who cannot use VG, and fewer still who cannot use PG or VG. Some have trouble with certain flavorings. Some have trouble with Ethyl Alcohol, which Citrus flavors and Cinnamon flavors are shipped in, because they are Oils that don't dissolve well in PG. But the vast majority of flavorings come in PG.

I hope this helps. :)

Who is left on the beach?

Only read back a couple of pages and I need to ask:

Stone........exactly what do you keep in your sporran??????? And what, if anything, do you wear underneath your kilt? :D

I went out tonight. Freaking cold. The relentless, brutal cold. How do people farther north who experience this every year deal with this every winter, without going insane, I wonder? Drunken ice fishing, in little huts? Ice sculpting? What???????

VG, (i would quote but i dont want to take up this entire page with my response)

I read into PG allergies a little but im not sure if this is the issue. Afterall its the 80%VG 20%PG that is giving me the issue. All my 50/50 liquids have done me just fine. But thanks for informing me about these side effects ill keep an eye out. My anxiety is through the roof as it is seeing as ive only been off analogs for a couple weeks now, and i suffer pretty bad dry skin in the winter and my arms are always itchy haha.

I have a Kanger evod tank as well as a kanger protank 2. I know my protank coil is 2.2 ohms so maybe ill try throwing the mix in their tomorrow and see if that helps.

The sensation in my throat when i hit the 80/20 spring break is just itchy when i inhale. it doesnt linger after my exhale but it definitely effects the taste. It is a citrus mix and thats almost how it feels (like im smoking vapors from a thick citric acid.) Im going to order a couple bridgeless atomizers this weekend. I just placed a huge juice order from lucky 7 vapes with their 1.99/12ml bottle deal (buy 3 get one free). I also purchased 500ml bottles of both PG and VG just to have (helped make my order 50 for free shipping)

I liked the idea of big clouds which is why i wanted to try a heavier VG mix. But if they all are going to irritate my throat like that i will stick with my 50/50s. Afterall i have 20 more of them on the way :p

It's always OK to use Reply With Quote. A page will show 10 posts, no matter how long each post is, and it helps people to know what you're talking about, and to whom. No problem in this case. :D

It's been a long time since I read anything about actual VG allergies, but your throat irritation may be one of them.

This is what's most commonly said about VG...

The most common noted side effect of inhalation of e-liquid containing vegetable glycerin is a dry mouth, sore throat, and increased thirst. These symptoms usually last just a few days to a week as the body gets used to the vegetable glycerin. These symptoms can be lessened by drinking more water and liquids than usual for the first few weeks of using your e-cigarette.

Any vaper should be drinking more water, but especially when using lots of VG - even at 50%.

However, you may do well to Google the words vg e-cig allergies or itchy throat in place of allergies. Do some research to see if you can find actual allergies (not just side effects like dry mouth) and see if those symptoms apply to you.

Another thing to consider is that this is a Citrus juice. That means it's an Oil in there. You may have issues with inhaling the Oil/s in that flavor, or the Ethyl Alcohol that the flavoring was in. I know a lady who cannot use any PG at all, nor any Ethyl Alcohol at all, so Ethyl Alcohol allergies do exist. Ethyl Alcohol is also called Ethanol and Pure Grain Alcohol (PGA)... three names for the same thing.

Aside from a possible allergy to the Oil in that juice, the Oils in Citrus and Cinnamon the are major players that will crack a plastic tank, so they really need to be vaped in glass, like your ProTank. The newer Polypropylene Plastic Tanks are stronger than the older Polycarbonate Tanks, but the Oils will eventually crack any plastic.

With all of that said, my instinct is that the problem is more with the Flavoring than the VG, because you still have 50% VG in your other juices, and they don't irritate your throat. So, to give it the last fair trial, put that juice in your ProTank, and put that on a PV which will let you set the VV/VW the lowest (if you have more than one - sorry if you already said), and see if it does better in glass at higher Ohms. Though unlikely, it's possible that plastic is causing the irritation. The EVOD is plastic.

For instance, if you are using the iTaste... 3.3V is the lowest Voltage and 6.0W is the lowest Wattage.

Using the ProTank's 2.2Ω Coil...

3.3V Squared divided by 2.2Ω = 4.95W, so this is lower Power to the Coil than 6W. This is how to calculate the Wattage when the Voltage and Resistance are known.

If you have a device that goes down to 3.0V, then (3.0V)2 / 2.2Ω = 4.09W. Compare this to it's lowest VW setting.

In reverse, the Square Root of (6W x 2.2Ω) = 3.63V, so you can see again that 3.3V on your iTaste is the lowest setting for 2.2Ω. This is how to calculate the Voltage when the Wattage and Resistance are known.

Now you know how to calculate which would give you the lowest Power to your Coil.

Sorry to keep dragging on this conversation haha. I know this is an off-topic kinda thread but you and Stone have been such a great help and have given me some great information described in a way i can understand lol

Off to work I go, you beachers have a nice day!
