Good Morning, Beachers.

Good Morning, Glam.

Stir crazy... that's funny. Whatcha maken?

Good morning.

Good Morning, Drearest.

I've been having trouble with my 5V double 14500 box mod. Sometimes I have to squeeze the top of the mod for batts to make connection and twist and twist the batteries around. I just put in a brand new set of batteries and it is working fine. Do you think over time I have worn off the nipples on the old batts sliding them into place?

Worn nipples. Let me get to working on that for you.

It's more likely that the contacts inside the mod need to be adjusted. You can use a small flat tip screwdriver and get the tabs to be less flattened. There is something of a "V" crimp that can be made more of a V and less crimped/flattened. You can also pull on the springs to lengthen them a little. Those two things should allow better battery contact.

Good morning, beach!

Good Morning, Mon Cher.

I am currently cooking a roast, making a pot of posole, baking an apple pie, and getting ready to make a loaf of beer bread. That is what I do when housebound....much more fun than cleaning.

Sounds yummy. :)

OMG....Beachers!!!! Hubs just took me to Walmart.....to get me out of the house. It is the closest store to us....about 7 miles. Going was fine.....coming home was OMG! Total white out conditions....could not see a thing. He put the flashers on and drove about 10mph all the way home. Unbelievable. This is exactly what it looked like.

th

And Sun....I do think I will organize my vapenalia today. The house cleaning??? Tomorrow is another day.

Glad you got to get out of the house!

Did you wear your special ear muffs?

For clarity... the tabs are the (+) connections.

It's also possible that the contacts need to be cleaned. I use the same small flat tip screwdriver and scratch on the parts of the tabs and springs that touch the battery. Then I clean them with Isopropyl Alcohol on a Q-Tip. When scratching on the springs, you may want to use something to hold them so they don't move so much, and you have better control of getting into the tight end loops. You want all the contacts to have shiny metal showing again, especially where they touch the battery.

You said you changed the batteries and it works now, so if this doesn't help, then maybe those other batteries need to be thrown out.

ETA:
You may need to clean the contact ends of the old batteries, too. If they are dull, try to shine them up some. You can scratch them and clean them with the Q-Tip as well. But not too much alcohol here!!!

Also, not all batteries are the same length, if they are different brands. Adjusting the terminals should help in that case.

Glam -- cooking new things is a great way to pass the time! Wish you lived next door. :D

What is posole?

Posole is a Mexican soup/stew made with pork, seasonings, and hominy. I also add tomatoes, chiles, and enchilada sauce. Let it all simmer.....serve topped with cubed avocado, sour cream, crushed tortilla chips and chopped lettuce. YUM!

Instant heartburn for DH. Sounds good though.

Sorry VG. Made brunch and now that it is over, I'm looking at a co op. Yes I'm thinking about spending more money! 8-o

I'll bet it's YUM!

Is it Mild or Hot?

Which co-op? I'm verified now, so I can at least look.

I am in and out....cooking and cleaning up after my pig self.....I can trash a kitchen faster than a hurricane!

Posole pot is huge.....wish I could share. I would call it medium...sometimes I add cayenne to the bowl....I like stuff hot.

I like Mild in Mexican food, and Hot in my Love Life. :D Medium for Mex-food would probably be just right for me. :)
