We shall see......and I do hope you can find out what Oliver's problem is Tink.....all the dozens of web sites I have read say there is a problem of some kind when a cat does not use his litter box. We think Hellraiser's main problem is his I.Q. :)

Maybe it's his I.Q.U.T.D.L.B. Quotient.

Beachers....I would like input from you regarding the cleaning/maintenance of the coils in my new tanks. I know NOTHING about coils, so I went searching. And found dozens of answers, all different. I found a blog from Dale regarding using the dental brushes. I have those....that is what I use instead of floss.

Please keep in mind.....I do not have the talent, brains, or desire to do ANY rebuilding. So, should I just pitch these when the taste starts muting or do they clean up and become like new again? And if so, what is the EASIEST way to do this? I mainly use clear or semi clear juice so gunking will take a while, I hope.

Please keep in mind whom you are talking with....I am still waiting for the "vaping for Dummies" handbook.

Thanks for any and all help.

What kind of coils Glam?

    Edit:
Ohhhh Glammm?? Where did you go?

If those are Pro-tank coils they're not terribly hard to do but you will need some replacement wick material and that "brush" idea doesn't really work well after all

But ... everyone is going to have a different way of telling you how to do it :)

:(:(.....I have no idea what kind of coils these are.....bottom single coil. That is all I can tell you. Bought them with the Aro Tank from MadVapes.

Now I am off to exercise class....if you can call what I am allowed to do now as exercise.... no load bearing.....too much load. But I am working on lightening the load.

    See you later

I looked the best I could ARO tanks right?
Look's like a Pro-tank coil or similar anyway. It should pull apart right under that whitish looking gasket on the coil but it will be "fiddly" for you I'm afraid
There's a little bit of wicking material there that is just sitting there on top, I throw that away ... dry burn the coil itself and replace the wick with new material.

 That's a rebuild. Maybe not a total coil-replacement rebuild, but a rebuild.

The only thing I'd say could be done is to do what's called a Dry Burn. You empty the Tank and press the Fire button until the Coil starts to glow Red, but don't let it get too red too fast. Start on your lowest Voltage and press the button briefly. You want to burn off all the juice that is on it and around it. You can do this with the Tank Cover off so you can see what's happening better. Screw the 510 Base with the Head installed onto your Battery. I dry mine off as much as I can before I do this.

But you have to start very slowly and at a low Voltage. I've burned out some coils on my Davide, which is a ProTank Head. Your ARO Heads are very similar, if not the same thing.

Your Head looks something like this.

    PTHead1_zps3db798fe.jpg

The Chimney (I'll call it) comes off...

    PTHead2_zps58fdcdc5.jpg

    1. Take the Base/Head Assembly out of the Tank and empty the Tank (or store it upside down).
    2. Dry off the Base/Head Assembly a bit and screw it back on to the Battery.
    3. Pop off the chimney. Pry it gently back and forth. You can use small pliers if you need to, but don't crimp it. Save this piece.
    4. Dry off the Head/Coil inside as much as possible. It's easier to do on the Battery (for me).
    5. Set the Voltage to the Lowest Setting.
    6. Press the Fire button briefly, but don't let the Coil burn Red yet. Repeat and watch for all the juice to burn off.
    7. Press the Fire button until the Coil starts to glow Red and release. Repeat a few times.

Now you are ready for the Glow Burn. This lets the Coil actually Glow Red and burns off any Gunk and Build-Up, but limit the Glow to 1 second. Eventually, the whole Coil will Glow. If done properly, the Wick will be white again, and the whole Coil will be clean.

    1. With the Voltage still on the lowest setting, Glow the Coil for 1 second. Repeat once or twice.
    2. Increase the Voltage and repeat. If the Wick and Coil look clean, go to step 4. If not, go to 3.
    3. Increase the Voltage and repeat, but only let it Glow Red for 1/2 second. You don't want to burn out the Coil.
    4. When everything looks clean, pop the chimney back on. When it is seated correctly, you will hear it actually POP back in, and it will be standing in straight alignment as it was before.

If you blow a Coil, what the heck? It was unusable anyway.

Reassemble your ARO and use it, like it was a brand new Head. Let your juice sit and absorb into the wicking for about 1 minute before vaping.

I know you are thinking , but this is the least Fiddly it gets. This is a Cleaning, and not a Rebuild.

I have a Davide tank. I don't like it… the flavor is very muted :( And I get a little bit of 'plastic-y' taste. Meh. I think I will just stick to my DC cartos in my tank.

Just a quick break as I wait on some floors to dry. If I try to do the other room now, the cats will scurry out of there like bats out of hell and mess up the floors I just did. :glare:

    Hello, TinkerBabe.

I don't like the Davide, either. I have the same bad taste as you.
(Well, my Bad Taste may be in a different category. LOL)

Right on, sistah (except I like SC cartos). I don't want any more of a hobby than it already has become. I want to buy replacements, not build them. If I want hard core, pure flavor, I'll drip in a plain old atty....and I don't do that very much. Frankly, I must have a crappy palate, because I don't get that much of a difference anyway!

BTW, I got a bold white swirl IBTanked, 22m, regular size, a while back after coveting your blue one. So you know, they make a beauty ring now for the ProVari so you can use the 22m tanks with a clean, flush look. I got one and it's really nice..... Now you need to go shopping again.

Glam, back-read on your sister based on above posts......PPT. Power of positive thinking, whatever the form or method. :) You are a good sister!

More snow tomorrow, late. 4-5 inches it looks like. We're closing in on the record this winter.

I completely ignored the Superbowl, as usual.

    Dearest,

I wrote in to MadVapes about the Pyrex DCT you mentioned...

    Hi,

Recently, your Pyrex DCT, Silver was recommended to me. I'm looking for Cartos for the Pyrex DCT, Silver. Please send links for the Cartos that fit this Tank. I'm interested in both single coil and dual coil, and any ohms, because of being able to use it on different PVs under VW, but I don't know which Cartos fit the Tank (by length, etc.). I do need 510 Cartos, though. The lock-flange is nice, but not necessary. This may be a large list if you include everything, but I'd really appreciate it.

I'd also like to know if this Airflow Controller Tank Airflow Controller will nicely fit the diameter of the Pyrex DCT. That is, are they both the same diameter? I would use this more to stop leaking into my Battery, but Airflow Control has other great properties. If it's not a great fit, do you have one that is?

    Thank You

    I received a reply today...

Craig, The Air Flow Controller does have the same diameter as the Pyrex DCT and they will fit each other. Great idea on using it to block the leakage as well as take advantage of its other properties. The replacement cartos that you would need for those tanks are Tank Replacement Dual Coil Cartomizers, 1.25 Ohms, Triple Hole. Personally I like triple hole so that your cartridge is constantly hydrated. There's also Tank Replacement Dual Coil Cartomizers, 2.5 Ohms, Double Hole. Here's a 1.7ohm single coil if you want to create vape clouds Tank Replacement Single Coil Dual Punched Cartomizers, 1.7 ohms.

    With best regards,
    Madvapes

    Good afternoon Beach(ers) :)

We got 7 inches of heavy wet slushy snow...the news said 3-5 inches this morning :glare:

We're expecting more on Wednesday and on Sunday. Gah
    Is that Stone?

Remind me to think twice before excepting an invite to eat at his place.
 That wasn't me...he had too much hair on his head to be me

Glam, I do pretty much the same thing as VG when cleaning heads. It takes some fiddling, no way around it other than buying new ones and throwing the old ones away....
