Hubs just look outside and told me everything is covered with ice. 
My teacher friend called and said the schools already told them there was a good chance school would be cancelled tomorrow. I mean, it is nasty!!!!
I bet we will not be able to take the yacht out tomorrow!

Okay, so the water company comes and without any warning whatsoever ... not even a notice on my door ... turn the water off in the neighborhood to do water work!
The water was off two days with no updates or phone calls to us. Can't even imagine how everyone got showered for work ... guess they went unshowered. Anyway, the water came back on two days later b/c they are piping the water from a supermarket.
THEN, I looked out my door the next morning and their was an OUTHOUSE on the curb two houses down.8-o
I quickly got 10 gals. of tap water filled into empty gallon water jugs I had out in my recycle can and filled them all up so we could at least use it to bucket flush the toilets.
So far the water is still on.
BRB - talking to Alan on the phone.

The storm we just had here was mostly ice. Tens of thousands (maybe hundreds?) were without power and I don't think everybody has it back on yet!
The kids have missed so many days of school, parents are petitioning the county to "waive" some days. If they don't, the kids won't have but one or two days off until June.

We've had times where they shut it off (and they notified everyone) BUT NEVER for days...just a few hours.
