I called the vet today and he is calling in some medicine that you can rub on their ears. It is amitriptyline, an antidepressant in ppl. It helps some cats with behavioral problems. I hope andit will be the answer for me!!
Your cat is depressed?

The amitriptyline helps with that sometimes.
The insurance companies are not making money on home insurance any more, and Tink is right, there are a lot of natural disasters hitting highly populated areas.I called the vet today and he is calling in some medicine that you can rub on their ears. ). We are supposed to get a lot of rain/wind from it tomorrow.I understand both sides of the situation.....insurance makes us a good living (actually it is because hubs is good at his job), but we do not get any discounts and our homeowners' insurance has doubled since we moved here 10 years ago. In fact, he has threatened to go to another company and get a quote. The insurance companies are not making money on home insurance any more, and Tink is right, there are a lot of natural disasters hitting highly populated areas.
I hear you....and know exactly what you are going through. You can love and hate an animal at the same time! I hope this works for you Tink.....keeping fingers crossed. If the kitty prozac does not work.....maybe you can rub it behind your ears in order to cope.![]()

Do either of them want another one??![]()
So Glam and (lurking) JJ… are you supposed to get hit with the winter storm "Vulcan" (or whatever they are calling it - I know it starts with a "V"). We are supposed to get a lot of rain/wind from it tomorrow.
My issue isn't limited to just home insurance. It's any insurance. You get two and three policies, so one covers what the one before it doesn't, and then come time for a claim, none of them will pay until they drag it out forever, deciding who is Primary. Primary was the one in the first place, the others are secondary and tertiary.
I'm not attacking anyone. I just think it's a damn shame!
Yes....it is hitting us right now. Originally they called for 8 to 9 inches of snow to fall after the rain/ice hit first. Now they are saying 3 to 6 inches of snow on top of this ice, and high winds tomorrow. And it is tracking east where it is supposed to dump a foot of snow in some places....extreme northeast, last I heard.
Well, I know insurance companies can be pretty shady....but I do not know what you mean by two or three policies. On the same risk?
LOL....if I open a can of tuna, my cat will come running from her bed in the back of my closet way back in our bedroom. I use a manual can opener so it is noiseless, but she can smell it from anywhere in the house.
Also, we put him out at night (although I would sneak him back in sometimes Oh. I thought it was coming from the south and so would get you guys after us. I hope the wind is not too strong here. The ground is saturated and any trees that weren't brought down by the ice (many, many were) could fall with the wind.

When I was growing up I had the best cat in the world! When we used the can opener, no matter what we were opening, he came running! Also, we put him out at night (although I would sneak him back in sometimes
) and he would grab onto the refrigerator near the door with both front paws, trying to keep from being put out.

Glam, Tink, jj ... that weather sounds terrible. I can't even imagine 9 inches of snow ... like how would a person walk or drive even? I've heard of it in Alaska, but not in the U.S. I guess I live in a glass bubble ... just can't imagine it.
