I used to play very well. When I was a child, I lived in a small desert town in CA. My dah was a welder for an oil company. A rec hall went out of business, so he bought one of their pool tables. We had a large house with a jumper porch (like on the southern plantations) all screened in. We spent all our spare time shooting pool year after year after year. Half the residents of the tiny oil town hung out at our house to shoot pool. The good ol' days when we dint lock our house or car doors and drank iced tea out of Mason jars, and no one wore shoes til the cold weather set in.

Great memories, there. :thumb: We had access to a pool table at the church I went to when I was 16 1/2 up. When I joined the Navy, there were pool tables all over the place.

Good night OB ... sweet dreams, (((my friend))).

Well then you got some pool shooting in VG. Same here with the Pendleton MB ... oodles of pool tables ... trying to keep them on base. Unfortunately, some of the marines get in a little trouble when they go out to the clubs here ... young and reckless. Then they get horny and go down to Tijuana (50 miles away) to the strip clubs and get in trouble there too. They since have banned them from going down, but that ban may have lifted.

Yes, young military kids from all branches get into trouble in bars and playing pool, cavorting with the ladies, etc. If they could stop with one too many, then maybe they could handle themselves, but excess is often the problem.

We had tons of rattlesnakes there, so my dah built me a go-kart when I was 8, then when I was 12, both parents took me out in the family car and taught me how to drive in case of an accident. We were 17 miles from the nearest doctor and 30 miles from the nearest hospital. It was by necessity that they taught both my brother and me to drive. When we moved to Santa Barbara, I started driving the family car at age 14 and never got stopped ... but it was just to go to the store or over to a friends house ... parents warned me about cruising around.

Sea,

You've got your green on in your avi. Wanna do an Irish Jig with me?

LOL, VG, you are the clever one! I've got to diet before I do a jig with anyone. I dance around for exercise, but not in front of anyone. Pippin used to tilt his head and wag his tail when I cut up, then he would bark and jump to dance with me. Friday just stares at me and thumps his tail.

Driving was always a natural for me. I started sneaking the car out when I was 15, taking it around the block. I never had a single lesson. My bother, on the other hand, wrecked the car several times and wasn't allowed to drive anymore. When I see race car drivers, like NASCAR, etc., I'm like "What's the big deal? They're just Driving!"

A jig might be good exercise, and I'm not asking you to do it in public. It would be just us. :D

I used to be tiny all my life, and then when I stopped smoking, I packed on 7 lbs a year.:(
Time for my green smoothie cleanse and diet.:)

I haven't gained weight from quitting smoking. I started gaining weight at about 38 when I met K. She's a very good cooker, and I ate it. I've lost all that since we broke up, and I'm comfortable at my weight now. :D

Was your brother dyslexic? Some ppl start driving like they were born behind a steering wheel ... others it's not so easy.

Even though I knew how to drive, I had to take driver's ed in high school. When we would get downtown, our instructor would put me behind the wheel to teach the others how to parallel park b/c he wasn't as good a driving instructor as he was a French teacher.

My brother just isn't very coordinated, apparently. He's learning smart, all book smarts, with no practical use. He never does much at all with what he learns. He just likes to argue about it. And he can't make his hands do what his mind knows. He just doesn't have that kind of mechanical aptitude. He's not physically impaired or anything. He just can't put things to practical use. He drives OK now (doesn't kill anyone), but he'll scare the crap out of you.

April 15th isn't too far off, and that is when the first of what they call "four blood moons" will be. It will consist of two solar eclipses and two full lunar eclipses. Exciting!:)

NASA - Eclipses During 2014

I don't follow astronomical events much. I enjoy watching an eclipse, if I remember to go out and look, but I hardly ever do. In about 1984, there was an eclipse of the Sun that I watched. We all went outside. I was working with a team of Engineers, so there were all kinds of gadgets to be able to watch it. It was amazing how cold it got. I find this stuff fascinating, but I'd probably forget to look at any events on that calendar.

But in that vein, here's something you might enjoy, too. Quantum Astrology, by Rick Levine. You can probably find it on YouTube. He shows how some planetary alignments also align with historical events. I just watched the DVD a few nights ago.

There has been a LOT of chat all over the web about it, and you can find more facts if you google "4 blood moons." It's exciting b/c it's been centuries since it's happened last.

VG ... my friend Andrew has popped by, so I need to wrap it up for now ... thanks again, and I will be chatting you:wub: soon.:)

Thank you, I'll add it to my notes. Will also see if Gregg Braden has anything to say about it.

Toodleoo for now.
