The TX300 may have had a higher performance CPU that ate up too much battery life for a mobile unit, or something like that. There was something about it that ran the price up to $1700. Or maybe the price tag made it too unpopular.

It's interesting that the TX came with a 500GB SATA drive in the dock, but cost that much more. I thought the SSDs were one of the expensive components. I'm back to looking at the T300, although New Egg has some refurbed TXs for $1300

SSD Drives are crazy expensive!!! I thought 256 was the largest. There must be two of them in there, configured in RAID so they add together.

Check into everything you can find about that TX300 before buying one. There's a reason they fell from the market so fast.

I think 256 is the largest in the consumer market...the 500GB is a SATA drive....

I know there is a reason it was discontinued so quickly, but it's sexy on paper!!
(I can get distracted by the shiny sometimes )

Oh, I read you wrong. I thought you said SSD... Solid State Drive. The device probably comes with a 500GB to keep the price down some. SATA Drives in Laptop sizes go up to 3TB, I think, just like full size hard drives for PCs.

Sexy on paper, sadly, doesn't always translate to sexy in performance, and looks don't mean squat if it doesn't perform.

Yeah, I know....but...but...a hybrid with a 13" screen, 5 hour battery life, backlit keyboard, a 500GB drive, dual cameras, 2 USB ports, etc sounds too good to pass up I haven't found why it was discontinued yet, but I'll keep checking when I can. I read through most of the Amazon reviews for the T300...funny how very few of them mention the trackpad, most mention the difficulty of upgrading Win
