 I'm not saying my diet is perfect :D But, I have tried eating right and have done certain regimens (ie, advocare, the skinny gut diet, etc) and can not lose a pound. Then I get discouraged/...... and start eating again… and gain MORE weight  Also, I have other symptoms, so would like to get thyroid checked. And, if it is not thyroid, maybe a full blood workup will show something that is causing it

She may just tell me I am lazy and to get my azz off the couch

Tink....I do not know much about the human body, but I do know that weight gain....also known as middle aged spread....for your age group is very normal/common. Most women experience this....the only ones who do not are the ones who start eating less when they notice it. I am past middle age spread......I am now in the old age spread.....which means no waist, all hips and belly and batwing arms.

And I agree you should be checked out, especially if you are having other medical problems. We want our Tink healthy and posting here.

Dale.....sorry you are not up to par. :( Hope you get better as the days goes on.
Oh, I'm fine Glam ... this was more of a "mental" thing ;)

I didn't either :glare: It may just be certain doctors offices that do that. But…. it is like you are penalized if you don't go to the doctor every year  I do go to my gyno every year, but don't feel like I need another check up every year by a GP. I just need a GP if I get sick or need a referral :sneaky:
Yeah, I guess they assumed you were dead

Guess that won't happened to me, doc tried to make me come in for blood work one month after I had had a blood work-up

I have been working on my bathroon most of the morning.....I cannot believe how many jars of face creams, moisturizers, body lotions, hand creams, etc. that I have accumulated. AND NONE OF THEM WORK!!!!! I had a bottle of body lotion with a pump that was almost empty, so I dumped some baby oil in that and put a lot of those jarred creams in that bottle and shook them up with the baby oil...maybe my own concoction will give me baby smooth skin. (This is a very tongue-in-cheek statement.) Or maybe there will be a chemical reaction from all those formulas mixed and my skin will be eaten away.:blink:

But at lease my storage areas in the bathroom look better. :)

Ewww!! Hope they were all unscented

I have about talked myself into procrastinating on going to the doctor  I just talked myself into making the phone call…. and they are closed for lunch  Must be a sign that I really don't need to go :D

And yes, I agree about people 'of a certain age' gaining weight. But being unable to lose any, while making a serious effort, is the part I don't get :( I do know I don't get enough exercise, and have tried to talk myself into getting more. But often I cannot talk/beg/cajole myself into getting up and attem. I mean a total weariness that I can't seem to overcome. My mom says she thinks a lot of it is because of the schedule I work. I think there is a lot of truth in that. While I work nights by choice, I know it is rough on the body and mind.

This is the gospel. I worked nights for a year and a half.......midnight to 8, when I was in my late 20s. And I was dragging around the whole time....even having panic attacks. I did go to the dr., and he told me to find a day job, which I did, and they went away, and so did my dragginess. So, listen to your momma. :) And I know you love your shift....but I do not believe anyone ever gets that deep, uninterrupted sleep that you need when trying to do it in the daytime.
