Hey Beachmates :D

I'm just getting up  Gonna have to talk myself into exercising soon :glare:

I think one reason for the migraine the other day was… I have hurt my neck doing these exercises :( It has hurt since that day, and I have had an almost constant headache since then too. Not as bad as the migraine, but constant except when I take ibuprofen.

Hubs said it was likely from turning my head to watch the video while lifting. Thus, not lifting in a good position for my neck. He's probably right. So I am trying to do better about that. And I'm becoming a little more familiar with the moves, so that helps.

Hopefully it will straighten itself out, SOON!

 Hi Tink! Yep! That'll happen. Take care of the amount too. If you're doing combination style of exercise(weights/aerobics)then use a really manageable light weight. :D

DW's working a five in a row. :D Oops! I mean...:(

Oh, Tink.....sorry to hear this. I get sore/stiff neck from looking at my computer screen so I do understand. I just read that most of us are deficient in magnesium (a major cause of migraines) and that magesium oil sprays are the easiest/most absorbed way to get it into your body. Soaking in Epsom salts also does this. I am going to order some magnesium flakes (pretty cheap) from Amazon....you just mix with water and spray onto your body....very absorbeable.

Signed.....Dr. Glam:D

She doesn't mix aerobics with weights, but uses upper and lower body in each exercise. Every arm/chest/back is done at the same time you are doing some type of lunge or squat. And, in this portion of the program, you are supposed to use weights heavy enough that you 'fail' at 10-12 reps. In the next portion of the program (2nd month) you increase the weights to fail between 6-8 reps.

Is your wife doing 5 12's in a row??? That'll hurt. I'm sure you will pamper and spoil her when she is home :sneaky:

I've heard a bit about magnesium deficiency lately, too. I did not realize it is better absorbed by the skin. Thanks for letting me know. I am also looking into herbs that help increase insulin sensitivity. Insulin resistance is (supposedly) one reason people have trouble losing weight.

After increasing my physical activity for 3-4 weeks, I gained 4 pounds  I was practically incon.....le after getting off the scales that day (last week). I haven't been brave enough to get back on them. And I had not been lifting weights long enough to contribute it to muscle weight :(

ETA: why is the word 'i n c o n s o l a b l e' censored???

 Yep! That's what I'm talking about. When you're doing stuff like that...keep the weights light(I don't really care what she says...you ain't her). When doing combinations like that...don't worry about going to failure. Lifting to failure is for when you're stable. Not when you're doing squats and moving around doing squats or lunges. Doing too many movements all at once is how people hurt themselves.

Hubby just makes it dirty!

Honestly if I'm gone for a long time, he does pretty good about keeping things clean.

Son has come, son has gone.

He tilled the garden area. :D

I can't nag my 19-yr-old into mowing the field (he has been told he has to do it today!). If he doesn't have it done by the time hubs gets home, I may have to leave the house for a little while
