I guess I won't be doing any 'futon yoga' soon

I got the futon for only $50 bc there was 'damage'. One of the metal railings, near a screw hole, had bent and a piece of the metal was sticking up. It didn't look too bad. And, it was only $50. Soooo I guess when we put it in the truck, it must have broken all the way through. And the other side bent (I guess bc of the torque from when the first side broke). Getting ready to look up welders in the area

Wish you lived closer, DH could do it.

Yes we have two different kinds of welders in the garage. I TOLD YOU THAT HE HAD A LOT OF STUFF OUT THERE!

Having to get a welder sounds like it might be cheaper, or at least better (if not both), to just get a new one. If parts of the metal are bent, then straightening them will probably weaken them even more (from bending a 2nd time), so that even though they are welded, they'll still be weak. They were likely already both broken, and that's why they sold it. Too bad, but these are the CL stories I've heard.

One of my BILs bought an enclosed sauna off CL. The price was great, but Packing plus S&H was very high, and it turned out that it was broken. It had several electrical problems that had to be fixed.

I have a Craig's List story....just happened. Hubs put our almost new hot tub cover on there....and someone in FL responded that they wanted it, and would send a cashiers check and a mover to pick it up....alarm #1. Then hubs gets a check today in the mail from this person for $1600....he was asking $200 for the cover. Enclosed was a note to please cash the check, keep the $200 and wire the 1400 to the mover out in West Virginia. Huge alarm!! LOL....hubs went looking for CL scams....there it was. The check would have been NSF and hubs would have been out $1600. Jerks!!

I wish I did too!!! Grrrr. I was going to go get some of that 'cold weld' stuff but hubs said it would not hold.
