LOL....if I started making a list of useless or short lived things we have purchased....I know I would get depressed. Hubs and I are both guilty of impulse buying.....and then going WTH were we thinking??

Why not try to cash the check first, and maybe keep everything over what it would cost to ship it yourself?

Hey, if the scammers can do it, that would be paybacks.

We did talk about contacting the scam artist and tell them that we were bringing the hot tub cover to them....for the $1400 he/she was going to pay the mover, and we would only take cash when we got there so we would not be cashing the check.

Got a friend who met a man friend on the Internet. He lived close so they actually went out a couple of times. He gave her a check to cash for him. She did and he had to "go on a trip" so after getting the money, he left and never came back. The check bounced. It was for something like $10,000. It took all her savings to cover the check.

No, you take it to the bank it was written on, and try to cash it there. Not by depositing it!

Me too....might wash some of the stink off....it is miserably humid here. I was soaking wet from carrying full watering cans to all the plants our hoses won't reach. So go ahead and spit on me....I will smell better.

Couldn't "like" that post. Seems like she would have had some type of legal protection?? I guess not, if she had to pay it out of her savings. That sucks!

These kinds of stories make me sick....people trust others because they would never dream of pulling something like that. So sad that people would do that to other people.
