LOL....if I started making a list of useless or short lived things we have purchased....I know I would get depressed. :D Hubs and I are both guilty of impulse buying.....and then going WTH were we thinking??

Hey we wouldn't have anything to put out for junk day if we didn't buy useless stuff!

That's ok Tink....makes a better marriage if the man feels superior. Men cannot stay married to women they think might be smarter than they think THEY are.

Why not try to cash the check first, and maybe keep everything over what it would cost to ship it yourself?

Hey, if the scammers can do it, that would be paybacks.

We did talk about contacting the scam artist and tell them that we were bringing the hot tub cover to them....for the $1400 he/she was going to pay the mover, and we would only take cash when we got there so we would not be cashing the check. :D

LOL....and then we have to send the bank $1600 to cover the bad check.....so what did we accomplish? Other than the hassle of dealing with the bank.

Got a friend who met a man friend on the Internet. He lived close so they actually went out a couple of times. He gave her a check to cash for him. She did and he had to "go on a trip" so after getting the money, he left and never came back. The check bounced. It was for something like $10,000. It took all her savings to cover the check. :(

:( Couldn't "like" that post. Seems like she would have had some type of legal protection?? I guess not, if she had to pay it out of her savings. That sucks!

These kinds of stories make me sick....people trust others because they would never dream of pulling something like that. So sad that people would do that to other people.

She tried to get help. They told her (when cashing it) to wait until it cleared but she didn't. It was a very bad decision.
