We had to put a filtration system in the line under our house (the kind that uses salt to purify). Water is so hard it was messing up the faucets.
I use this one . . .
It's better than nothing.
DD & SIL use that. It's suppose to work pretty good.
And that is it for the night so into lurk mode I go.

I remember the soft water when I lived in Southern Cal. It felt so different in the shower.

The under-sink Reverse Osmosis Systems are great in the kitchen. It's as close to Distilled as you can get without a Distiller System. A tank under the sink holds about a gallon of clean water.
Our well water is cold, delicious, and extremely hard. We have a reverse osmosis filter on a separate line for our drinking water. But the taste is great even from the regular faucets...they had to go 130 feet down to hit the water table so it is pretty pure.
We are fortunate...a lot of homes in this area have a sulphur problem.
