I'm not a very good traveler myself. I used to get car sick as a child when my dah would take us on vacations every year. Then when I travel alone, I have a really hard time keeping my car speed down under 90. I guess in my mind, I just wanna hurry up and get there. My kids say I need to install a speed governor in my car. I get lost a lot and miss my freeway interchanges. So I think before anything else I'll have a GPS (or whatever they're called) installed first.

It's been overcast and cold here for the past coupla days, and the weatherman missed it big time - said it was going to be a "perfect weather" weekend.

OMG!! I know folks drive fast in SoCal but......you might want to give yourself 1/2 hour extra "getting lost" time. You know your body's taking on a lot of stress when you're anxious and hurrying, not to mention safety and tickets! :)

To a little town of a few hundred souls named Mossy Head. A fellow smart owner who lives there is a very qualified shadetree mechanic (with a lift in his garage and a tool set to make most professionals green with envy). The nearest dealer is 300 miles away. The choice is obvious. And, I get a nice drive in the bargain. Yippie!

EDIT: I knew I should've quoted CES: Now my reply is way lost, LOL.

Nice...and even nicer to be sure that the car will make it the distance when it needs work :)

Yes, but can you trust this guy's skills? I assume you already know him? :)

I trust him more than any of the "pros" in this neck of the woods. Yes. Hell, he teaches this stuff.

When I called him a shadetree mechanic, I didn't mention he has a lift in his garage, and a tool set to make most pros green with envy, did I?
