I sit between 1.0 and 1.8 though I prefer 1.4 but my building skills or lack thereof give me that much variable

I have a dozen drippers and can't seem to get anything out of them that tastes decent no matter the ohm reading. I just can't figure out what all the hype is about. Can anyone enlighten me please? I would love to know the secret so I can actually use them. If not they're going on ebay.

Does not matter how good that coil comes out. If it is not in proper relation to the air holes and air flow it's wasted.

So, how do I keep it from being so harsh and tasting good? I believe it's in proper position but I could absolutely be wrong.

The higher up the coil is in the chamber the better the taste, to an extent. The lower it is to the air hole the warmer vape. Experiment with raising and lowering the coil till you find the sweet spot :)

Thank you, I will play with some and I think you may be onto something. I was told it had to be low to be good and that certainly hasn't worked for me.

Maybe someone with more experience can answer but from what I have seen on Indoor Smokers, dripping requires about a quarter of the nic strength. I don't know why but is seems to be the case. I just used what I had, 20mg, and it is harsh.

The lowest I have is 18 at the moment and it really is harsh. I can go get a small bottle from a shop near me and we'll see if that helps. Thanks.

18mg was to harsh for me even when i was used to 18mg.
Some 12mg are to harsh even, but most of the juices works. :)

When you're dripping its recommended to go down to 12/6mg.

I'm going to go get a bottle of one of my favorites in 6 and see what happens. I already built a new coil and put it up high which has absolutely helped. Now we'll add the lower nic juice and see if we can come close to my Kayfun! At least it's not like having a hot poker rammed down my throat any more, now for the flavor factor.

You guys are amazing and I thank you while heartedly. You may have saved my drippers.

Buy a bottle of your fav juice in 6 mg. drip with that, and see how you like it. 18 is way high

I normally go .8-1.2. But I did two today and they're at .5 and .4. They are working great, warm vapes great flavor/vapor no dry hits.

26ga Gplat 6 and 7 wraps around 2mm screwdriver wicked with cotton. They fire up really quickly, which I like.

They get warmer than a normal 1ohm+ build but not hot. I think this is helping with the wicking too.

My KFLs are modded too. I opened up airflow on both with a drill, and opened up the internals and juice wells.

I love it. It's like a genny but a Kayfun, flavor is the same if not better than my Atomic with the same build on the second air hole setting but I don't have to drip.

That's because it DEPENDS ON THE WIRE GAUGE.

(and whether its dual coil or single coil - if you are running 1.2 ohm single then you can run 0.6 dual with good wicking)

I think the last time I went sub-ohm on a kayfun, it was with 28g. I just twisted some 32g and build a really nice micro coil for one of my KFL+'s about 30 mins ago, and I'm in heaven! It's reading 2 ohms, and tastes amazing. Might try a nice sub-ohm dual coil on another and give it another whirl.

I'm vaping a 28ga 8 wrap coil on my Kayfun 3.1 that measured 1.33 ohms on my little 510 box ohm meter. It measures 1.3 on the Provari. I find that 1.5 ohms plus/minus is a good place to be. 2 ohms is good, but I find the resistance climbing a little even when the post wire screws are tight when I go back and check during a refill. The Provari drops a digit instead of rounding. Last time I wrapped a 1.99 ohm coil it read 1.9 on the Provari and 1.99 back on the standalone ohm meter. 3 digits, 2 digits, you'd think the Provari would have a rounding algorithm that took it to the nearest half ohm. I guess that's hard to get into the rom chip memory with all the other code.

I always hated watching the videos where the builders reverse wrap one side of the wire around one of the the screws and forward wrap the other side. I was taught to wrap in the direction it tightens. That said, I've discovered that putting a coil on the deck flat with the coil out to the side (still on the rod), then wrapping one leg to the right and one leg to the left is the easiest way to get it done. They stay tight as long as you get enough wrap around the screw. After that, I just bend the coil up into place using the coil winder rod to lift it. If you judge it right when you place it, the coil pivots into place right over the air hole.
