Today was our daughter's birthday, and day before yesterday thanks to our son's girlfriend we became grandparents again for the second time in a year (the daughter had her baby last September). Unfortunately the baby was 11 weeks premature, and in now going to be in an incubator until January, but so far he is doing ok, on oxygen but breathing on his own and is coming up to just about 2 pounds now.

Unfortunately as work has kept me tied up in the USA I have yet to meet either grandchild in London yet, though my wife has flown back over a couple of times and spent time with our granddaughter, who is now one and totally precocious.

Congratulations and happy birthday to your daughter. The little one sounds like a fighter to me but will include him in my prayers.

Hiya Chat! (sorry, just couldn't call 'ya Rat2 )

Let me be the first to congratulate you on a job well done!

I shouldn't laugh really ... not going to mention how long it's been since I did likewise.

I thought I'd leave all the LLF a little joke to start the day ... (stolen from another thread I must admit)

An attorney arrived home, late, after a very tough day trying to get a stay of execution for a client who was due to be hanged for murder at midnight. His last minute plea for clemency to the governor had failed and he was feeling worn out and depressed.

As soon as he walked through the door at home, his wife started on him about, "What time of night to be getting home is this? Where have you been?" "Dinner is cold and I'm not reheating it". And on and on and on.

Too shattered to play his usual role in this familiar ritual, he went and poured himself a shot of whiskey and headed off for a long hot soak in the bathtub, pursued by the predictable sarcastic remarks as he dragged himself up the stairs.

While he was in the bath, the phone rang. The wife answered and was told that her husband's client, James Wright, had been granted a stay of execution after all. Wright would not be hanged tonight.

Finally realising what a terrible day he must have had, she decided to go upstairs and give him the good news. As she opened the bathroom door, she was greeted by the sight of her husband, facing away from her and bent over naked, drying his legs and feet.

"They're not hanging Wright tonight," she said. To which he whirled around and screamed, "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WOMAN - DON'T YOU EVER STOP?"

:D

I hope all are well and everyone has a great Sunday!!!

NGAHaze, thanks so much for sending me off to bed snickering. You don't know it but you hold a warm place in my heart. You were the first one to ever "like" my comments when I made my very first post of ecf. Chimney34 was the second. (a big thank you to you too) Isn't that a coincidence? For that I am grateful because I put off posting because I was afraid no one would like anything I said. What can I say? I'm a sentimental o'l soul. Have a great Sunday yourself. I've have to hurry and go to bed because I really looking forward to my coffee.

I am one of those who eat when I am not feeling good soooooooooo..... all I can think about right now is chili cheese fries. Stayed in tonight and didn't go out to eat with my dad. Didn't really know what I wanted to eat so my hubs just went to BurgerKing. First time I've had a Whopper in a long time and it was pretty good. Then I had to go and ruin it. Under no circumstances should you ever get on scales to weigh yourself after you have eaten a whopper. I hope it is not raining tomorrow because I predict a walk in my near future.

Back in 1998, I saved a little kitten under some bushes from being eaten by two dogs. Of course, being an animal person, I brought it home and took it to the vet. She was always a skittish cat but has been a very good cat. Loved to be brushed. She rarely came out if we had company but would always cuddle when we were alone. I knew she was not feeling well. I know the signs when they start drinking water heavily and losing weight. Well today she went to meet Jesus. I love my animals but I will never let them suffer. It is the one of the hardest things we have to do. My hubby took her because with the way I have been feeling lately, I just wasn't up to it. So bless him too.

Sorry I am writing a novel, but thank you for listening. It is nice to share both the good and bad times with kind people and for that I am grateful.

Everyone have a great Sunday. I know tomorrow will be better. If not... the next day. View attachment 263792

Good morning Lurkers  not very often I'm up and at me before my BS :D

Rat I'm sorry about your kitty :( I know that a pet is just like a family member. It kills me when my huge little puppy has something wrong.

Well my tigers are out of the playoffs :( I thought that this would be the year that they won the World Series.

Hiya Robin! How's the music biz?
