One night I decided to make some scalloped potatoes. Sliced up the potatoes and some onions and put them in a dish, covered with saran wrap, and popped them in the microwave. Pulled them out 6 minutes later, and was careless when removing the saran. The steam blew out across the tops of my fingers/knuckles and gave me 2nd degree burns (3rd degree in a couple of spots) and took the skin with it. I made the mistake of putting silver nitrate on the burns; when I finally went to the ER, they had to SCRUB that stuff off. It's in my top 3 of the most painful experiences of my life.

That hurt just reading it ... OUCH!

In sleep, find you peace
Let cares fade away
Your trials find surcease
And the pain slip away

In sleep, may you dream
Of love, light and life
A bright silver stream
Washing away all strife

From sleep, may you wake
Refreshed, filled with joy
And ready to take
The new day as your toy

(sorry for using "away" so often... been a long day... )

.....what is this from?? It's buggin the crapola out of me.:p

I never had these as a kid ... not sure why they started frankly.
I didn't either. I get them when the barometer is at 29.8 (or above) I take something as soon as it starts coming on. I keep it with me at all times. Have also had to run in a CVS before to get a bottle and a bottle of water when I found I didn't have any with me.

Ummm, time for us to test the chili
eating.gif

Thanks for the idea GG, where ever you are!
BBL :)
My chili never turns out good. DH told me years ago to "just get Chunky", he loves Chunky chili. Oh well, one less thing to cook....LOL.

Home made sloppy Joes, here, with sweet potato fries.
YUM!!!!

Nap over. Beans in. I see chili dawgs for dinner. :)
Take a hot dog in bun cut into 1 inch pieces place in bowl. Spoon a large serving of chili over it. Top with your preference: sour cream cheese crackers relish slaw pickles. Whatever you like :)
ANOTHER YUM!!!

Hey Lori, I owe you a big

Or Wegmans. I could spend way too much money in that store. Good thing the closest one is 80 miles away.

What is Wegmans? I've never heard of it:confused:

I haven't written anything (poetic) for 13 or 14 years now. Dunno what came over me that caused me to break that dry spell...

I sorta stopped writing the same time I stopped composing music. The Muse left me. :)

I could tell you we're a writer by that synopsis thread re: Snail Tales. :)

I was very, very upset at the abrupt ending. Some day when I'm old and gray (er...older and grayer than I am now) and you all have left the forum for an actual life, I will finish the Snail Tale (tail?) thread.

Kristen Stewart (the Twilight saga movies)...a still/gif I found. Looks like it's from one of her interviews.

Re: Wegmans. A grocery store...but it has a lot of items (many high end) and some things I haven't seen since I lived in Europe. Cheeses that I can't find anywhere else; real, honest to god German wurst and mustard; and gourmet items not carried in regular grocery stores here in Virginia (Pâté de Foie Gras, caviar, escargot, etc.)

OMG real wurst?!?!?! Damn! Wish I'd've known that! I will have to remember that when we go visit the daughter next year! We go to Virginia every spring and visit her classroom and cause general mayhem.  :D
