Howdy Dale, Chim & Rhonda!!! Oh and Elf, I see you below, a big howdy to you too if you're here and not on another page...LOL!
I think I'm still invisible from work, too lazy to go change it, but I do need to go answer some questions posed on another thread...LOL!!

Rhonda, did you honestly and truly make homemade fried chicken from scratch??:cry: I cannot tell you how long it's been since I've had that. I think I need to do that this weekend.

Hiya Loridear !!!!! :)

Fried chicken from scratch? Ya mean kill the chicken, pluck the feathers, gut it, etc. ?
Well, yes. My mom grew up on a farm, and they did, just what you described.

She said that they had a contest one year, for best time. Their best time was 12 minutes. Sad, but that's how you ate on the farm.

......no, I meant.....you know what I meant......LOL!:pervy::pervy::pervy:

I know, Lori. My mom grew up in a small city, but during the depression, they had chickens and my grandfather would kill them and my grandmother would cook them.

Also, when I was in grammar school, the guy next door to the school had chickens and we used to watch him kill them and pluck the feathers. The school admin asked him to stop doing that during school time. LOL

Hiya Chimsis. :)

    we have to protect the childrens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Exactly. The admin were afraid that it would frighten the kids, but we found it fascinating, not frightening.

    He would hang them upside down, tying them to a tree limb by their feet and then he would slit their top palates and the blood would flow out, until they were dead. Then he would dip them in warm water, to loosen the feathers and pluck them out. It wasn't frightening, we knew that the chicken we ate didn't grow on trees.
