Exactly. The admin were afraid that it would frighten the kids, but we found it fascinating, not frightening.

The first time Magoo saw his dad field dress a deer, he was about 5 years old. I was a little concerned (it's a messy process, after all); but he insisted (as only a 5 year old can do). When he came back in, I asked, "How did it go?" He looked up at me and said, "Mom, it was just like cleaning a really big fish." Then he handed me a strip that Joe had cut from the tenderloin and insisted I cook it up for his dinner.

I agree, and also agree with what Elf said too.
It didn't bother me much at all as a child to watch fish being cleaned, now it would.....LOL......silly, but true. Guess I've gotten soft.

But (confession) I cannot cut up a chicken. (whole from the groc. store, not the barnyard) It must be a phobia. I cannot touch the cold, slick......ewwwww, can't even talk about it. DH thinks it's funny to chase me with it. LOL. OK, there it is.......I said it. Poke fun and get it over with.....:lol::lol: (So, I get it already cut up and use tongs.)

......as a kid......nothing bothered me.

You guys are cracking me up! I did cry the first time I saw my great uncle wring a chickens neck. I was little & the chickens were my friends! He had a farm with cows, chickens, pigs etc... I really didn't want to eat my friend but I got over it & boy was he good!! I'm not squeamish but I still can't but & clean fish! Yuck! It's just disgusting! I can't take it!

poking fun with  dear Lori :)

I've processed a whole buck on our back deck table. It was shot off our property, but came *on* our property to die: finders keepers. Joe cleaned it; I processed it; in our freezer 3 hours later.
