Well, not that it is anything new, but went to supper with dad tonight. Teriyaki Chicken. Delicious. Then, what makes this little Rat the happiest? Yes................donuts. Love me some donuts. Nice quiet night going on here now. Hot tea and a filled tooter. What else could I ask for?

Can you believe it is already Friday? The week has flown by so fast. Suppose to go to a birthday party this week end but the way I am feeling right now... not sure I'll make it. I guess it is all this rain. Sweat one minute and then shiver the next (no I'm not having hotflashes yet).

Well, everyone have a nice night.

Hi R2C2. It's technically still Thurs. ;) , but for you, we can call it Friday. Course, there are roughly only 4 hours left for Thurs. (three for you) so it's actually pretty darn close to Friday. What the heck, TGIF!!!

Well, our snow has officially begun. Now we'll see how much we get. One says 2 to 4, and another says 4 to 6. I'd personally love to just see the 2 (or less)

Dale, I surely hope you don't lose power. They have a lot of ice predicted for your area though. A half inch of ice is A LOT when you're talking power lines and trees. Glad you have a kerosene heater. We should prob have one of those as a back up. We have a generator, but DH hates to mess with it unless the power has been out for awhile. It's not big enough to run the entire house all at the same time, but we can run the furnace, fridge, etc. I think he has to switch back and forth between the furnace and fridge though.

I guess since we had sleet/rain/ice first, and now it's all going to freeze hard tonight, it wouldn't be completely out of the realm of possibility that we could lose power, so if for some reason y'all don't hear from me (at some point), then assume we did, and I'll be back when we get it back.

Sure hope you don't lose power Lori, is your house all electric too?
Pretty much. Our stove/oven is both. The oven is electric, and the stove top is gas, it's a combo type style. We can still light the stove top burners ("eyes" for you Southern gals) manually. We also have a gas grill outside, so we can cook, no problem. I do miss morning coffee though if the power is out, I may make a pot tonight, just in case. Then I could just reheat that on the stove top. Wouldn't be as good, but better than nothing...and DH does NOT consider coffee an emergency, so from past experiences, he will not, despite any amount of pleading, fire up the generator for my morning coffee. I swore last time I was going to get an old stove top percolator for just those times. ;)
I think our hot water heater is gas, but electric ignition, so that's no good without power either.

So you're all electric??

    Yes ... unfortunately :(
I hate it but that's just how it is.

I gotta have my coffee too but all I have is a little sterno stove   Desperate measures for desperate people!!!
I have resorted to a coke to keep away the "caffenine headache" in the past.

Never heard of a stove like that

Hey, sterno works too!! Whatever works! :D I do decaf, so I don't have to worry about the headache, but I've resorted to cokes when I did caffeinated coffee, cuz I needed my morning fix......or thought I did. ;)
Now I shake like a leaf if I have caffeine.

I hadn't heard of them either until we bought this house and had to buy appliances.

Growing up, we had a fireplace with a woodstove insert, and mom would just cook on her Coleman camping stove....or we'd have Spam.

    yuck.gif

But we used to have bbq hash ....... hummm, I need to try that again :)

We had a Coleman stove but it sure was a pain to use ... then it stopped working :grr:

Oh, I definitely used to need my caffeine in the a.m.

So, how about I have one of the bumps on my tongue irritated. UGH. My mom used to say that was a "lie bump"
But, I bit it accidentally the other day, and since then, I've had too much spicy food. It really hurts, and of course, I can't leave it alone either.

I remember she'd make fried spam, but now that I said that, I don't think we ate it just out of the can. Is that right? Gracious, she's always make fried spam if we went camping.
    yuck.gif
However, I could prob handle it smother in BBQ sauce.
BUT, I cannot do corned beef hash.
    puke.gif
DH has to have it every once in awhile, with eggs on top. Just the smell of it makes me sick to my stomach. He thinks it's funny and will chase me around with the can.

Lori you may need a course of antibiotics, it will get better quick. A few weeks ago I bit my cheek at dinner, it always healed in a couple of days in the past so I did not worry about it. Except, 2 days later I flew to Japan and it got worse! It did not heal itself. Doc prescribed antibiotics and I picked up on my way home, took 2 days to start getting better. Do not take a chance.

......geesh, you snuck up on us. Yeah, no...this is just one of the little bumps on my tongue. I've never heard about taking an antibiotic for that, but I would agree for the inside of the cheek. Good thing you got them for it. That would be really painful.
This isn't an open sore at all. Just an inflamed bump that I won't leave alone. If it's not gone in a day or two, I'll call the doctor for sure though.
