Chim, my best friend's daughter is a lawyer, in Massachusetts. She started her own law practice, right out of law school, criminal and divorce law.

Have you given any thought to just starting your own practice, instead of joining a law firm?

Sheesh Jer, she just said she has financial prob

I have I just have to get past the Bar Exam hurdle. And that means getting all of my financial issues back in order so that I can get through the 'character & fitness' part of the application process. Basically you have to show that you don't have anything past due or in collections to pass. And last year was really tough. They really don't care what caused you to get behind so right now I've just been focusing on that & trying to find something in my field or at minimum something that pays better.

Would family law prepare you for the social work field?

With that kind of attitude, you will go far. Just know that everything you experience is adding to the person you are and will be, and the success you'll achieve. I was 29 before I was given even the first opportunity for a "real" job. I didn't think I'd make it, the challenges were so hard. I look back now, nearly 25 years later, and know that I'm well respected & REALLY good at what I do now. Facing & conquering those challenges are the reason I am, and you will too.

Thanks Jerry! I know it will! Sometimes I just have to remind myself that it could be worse & that there are others going through the exact same thing & in spite of it all I am very blessed!

Oh Chim, how frustrating!! ((((HUGS))))) So did you say you went to M.State?? My SIL is alumni there. She and her husband (also alumni) were married at the little chapel on campus. It was really neat. Quick, but neat. They gave you a time slot...LOL...at the time, there was a 3 year waiting list for a Sat. in June. She got lucky with a cancellation. If I'm mistaken, it's just par for the course....I so totally messed up Jerry and the FB thing........

Sorry Jerry, my bad again. But did I have the part right about your BF living in CA??:laugh::laugh:

Again, thank you so much everyone. Yes, apparently my dad will be okay.
