Oh, no doubt! I forgot about the candy I consider movie theater candy.

when I was a kid, a group of us would hike up to the theater every Saturday... I think it was all of 3/4 of a mile away. On the way, we'd always hit this store (sorta like a Woolworths, but not) 'cause they had a massive (to a kid) candy station that was manned.

Oh what treasures we could get with half our allowances!

I seem to recall that tickets to the double-feature were like $0.25 for the Saturday Matinee... and they didn't mind kids bringing in their own goodies...

I think ours were like that too! We had a "bread" store, called Farm Fresh. A convenience type store before there really were any. They still have a huge candy selection. Some selections the same, lots of new stuff. I always smile when I see the little ones all BIG EYED and excited, cuz that used to be me too!! Yes...:lol::lol:...1/2 the allowance ='d a HUGE bag!!

ah... penny candy...

I'd get one or two bars that I really liked, and everything else was penny candy. Or a couple feet of dots... those little candy buttons stuck to paper...
I liked the ones that were kinda like tootsie rolls, only a really soft caramel that had a soft color/flavor in the center...and there were different flavors!!

I guess I'm kinda late to the party...as always lmao. Sorry, DH and I had to go to the computer store to pick up a few things, he's restoring a Dell desktop that I have. Nice computer, he's upgrading it. 25" huge monitor, 2 gig memory, several hundred gig hard drive, a DVD-RW and a CD-RW. I guess it's a pretty good computer after all lmao.

Hi ya' Angel!

Hey there Elf, you home yet?

No, I head back tomorrow. :( But, my son and his honey will be up to see us for the 4th, so it's another good thing to look forward to. I keep telling myself to look for the good stuff: the 4th, a job (possibly later this week), my dogs will be glad to see me, etc. But I really like it here in Wilmington, so it's tough to head home.
