Absolutely Lori! I want one eventually. I'd just like to have a house with a yard instead of an apartment when I do!

Hey GG & Jerry! How ya doin today?
They actually have had problems when they were renting, and actually when they bought their last home. Seems a lot of apartment complexes and many municipalities have ordinances and rules against the breed. Same for dobermans, not sure about other breeds, but those two I have heard are often restricted. Plus, I've also heard that a lot of insurance companies won't grant you a policy if you own a pit bull. Sad, sad, sad.

Theirs is technically called a staffordshire bull terrier, so I don't know if they are the same, but they look like they are, if not very close.

Yeah! A lot of places here have the same restriction. I have renters insurance & they asked what kind of dog I had when I got it. I thought it may have been because of something like that. It's a shame! If bread & trained well they are wonderful loving companions! It makes me sad that the entire breed is stereotyped because of bad people!

LOL!!! Okay, will do!!! The county we live in actually has more than a few dairy farms, so I wouldn't have to go far to milk one. I can get fresh eggs just outside of the wee little village we live in. (Pop. just went to 1000 last census...LOL)

Gosh! I'm soooo jealous! I love fresh eggs, used to get them from one of my co-worker's at the butcher shop FREE no less! Ruined me for the store bought ones tho':(
I've been back to bed, was freezing:( So now I'm feelin' a bit "dull". ..................later

I have GSDs and my sister has a GSD and a pit. You have to know what you are doing when you own large, powerful breeds. Even though I am an experienced large breed dog owner, I know I would be over my head with say, a Rotty, or even a Doberman.

Your dog is what you make them...IMO of course :)

Amen. A friend of mine when I was growing up had a Doberman, she was the sweetest thing. My friend came from a big family, it was the family dog, but she was mainly bonded with my friend. It was funny cuz if her older brother's pick on her, just play fighting, the dog would "attack", just mouth them, and put herself between them. She could've done serious damage, but it was more of a "hey, stop that." sort of reaction. She was also very protective of the small two kids in the family. She always had her eye on them. Their house was the gathering spot for all of us, it was the type of house that you just went in, didn't knock. That's the way they wanted it. If you did knock, her mom would come to the door and scold you, saying...don't make me walk all the way to the door, or yell, just come in. The dog didn't care. She seemed to have a sense of who belonged and who didn't.
I did witness a door to door type person ring the bell one time, um...yeah, THEY wouldn't have been able to just walk in...LOL!

Brussel sprouts are the best! I take a bag out of the freezer, toss with some olive oil and salt and pepper, put in a baking dish, and bake at 400 for about a half hour. Hot and dipped in sour cream....ugh, I could make a meal of just this (and I have :))

I'm not really to sharp over here either Dale! Glad you have an appointment next week my dear! Pain free this morning...yippieeeee!!

Sorry about you freezer GG but glad you were able to salvage some of your goodies!! Aside from the spouts your dinner sounds delicious! I remember having to eat at least 2 or 3 before my mom would let me get up from the table! I'd really wished I'd had a dog then to feed them too under the table! I sat at tht tabl for a really long time!
