I remember having to eat at least 2 or 3 before my mom would let me get up from the table! I'd really wished I'd had a dog then to feed them too under the table! I sat at tht tabl for a really long time!

Yep! Me & Prince are relaxing on the couch. Im catchng up on some tv & hes catching up on some sleep. Lil miss Chloe is off in her own world in the bed as usual! Shes not the most social kitty. I'm not really to sharp over here either Dale! Glad you have an appointment next week my dear! Pain free this morning...yippieeeee!!

Sorry about you freezer GG but glad you were able to salvage some of your goodies!! Aside from the spouts your dinner sounds delicious! "My" cat (Bright Eyes) is out galavanting around... when she first adopted me, I'd see her for an hour or two a day.

Now, she comes and finds me wherever I am (except one area where nobody's allowed) and lays down. Then follows me when I relocate. I've read that cats need their space...

I was so lucky that my son, Magoo, (not his real name btw) was not one of those picky eaters. What kid did you ever meet who would actually ask for brussel sprouts, or spinach, or asparagus, or artichokes, or broccoli.

Yes Chloe has been that way for the 6 years that I've had her. So when I got prince I gated off the spare bedroom so that she could have her own space. As long as she's got her window perch she's fine! If I forget to open the window or her or food or water gets low she alerts me. At night she comes and lays on me so that I can pet her until she's satisfied then she's off!!

Trinity=celery onions and peppers all good recipes start with that for flavoring

My cats follow me around. I have to make them move. Right now they are laying in the sun cast for the sky lights. Except the sun is no longer shining. LOL.

No sun here today either but I just saw that Chloe was napping on her perch. Maybe I should take one too since the kids are both napping! If I can't fall asleep Prince & his gas will surely knock me out!

Two things I wouldn't touch as a kid were greens (kale, collards, chard, etc.) and squash. Now they're at the top of my favorites list. Beets, though....nope.

As I recall, the only veg I didn't like as a kid was those sprouts....

I dearly loved spinach and green onions, though

Mom never served foods she did not like. But we had to try everything she did serve.
Never had beets. Cooked carrots. Liver. But we had eel turtle snake brains tongue roe quail venison and other stuff to make up for it. The puff pastry baskets with pig innerds in a cream sauce for a bridesmaids luncheon was a bit much but excellent. I'd eat it again. Did I tell you mom is a chef a really good one. She learned after she retired for singing opera. Yeah weird family . My grandmother could not even open a can and heat it. So she decided to cook "good" food

Brussel sprouts are the best! I take a bag out of the freezer, toss with some olive oil and salt and pepper, put in a baking dish, and bake at 400 for about a half hour. Hot and dipped in sour cream....ugh, I could make a meal of just this (and I have )

Well see ... my memories of Brussel Sprouts consist's of the one time my mom cooked a package & a bunch of bugs floated to the top... still remember that!
