Public Service Statement for those buying used mods from unqualified sources!

Ok, I am hearing more and more about people buying used GDNA mods off the classies and other places, they get them home and find they are total and complete sheeeet. If you are going to buy a kit style mod, do yourself a favor and buy from a reputable known modder. I am sure every person who builds these has the best of intentions starting out, but they are not easy builds...period. You can't expect to have never soldered before and turn out pristine work overnight. I have been soldering for well over 30 years and still have plenty to learn. But anyway, not posting these pics to make fun of someone or start any flame wars, I don't even know the person that did this. But whomever you are, shame on your for selling/trading this as anything but a shell as there is nothing inside of this mod that is usable and now they have come to me for help. So anyway, people, please beware of buying used mods like this. Normally I would say no way, but I had pity and decided to help the guy out, he already got screwed bad enough when he traded for this POS. In the end, time, money, aggravation, he would have been better off buying from me or another vendor in the first place. Sure I am not cheap, but you get 30+ years of experience and I guarantee nothing like what's in these pics. Just please make sure you buy from somebody who knows what they are doing, as I won't be taking many of these pity cases. It's just too much work, much more so than just starting with fresh, unused parts. I have to strip everything down and sort through the crap, plus the bad paint job need a blow torch too.....argh! Anyway, felt it needed to be stated....be an informed buyer, all are not created equal.

Hey, not everyone is good at everything. I hear though that you're really good at counting and packing teeny, tiny little parts. ;)

So hopefully I am going to be able to get back on track starting this Friday. Things are going ok, still painful as hell every time that thumb tendon decides to exercise his new found freedom. So was giving it a week to calm down before I tried getting on the lathe. Hand cranking those little knobs and sanding on small items are hell on the hands. But fingers crossed, starting back up Friday. A backlog drives me bananas! But I really do appreciate everyone's patience with me and hope in the end, they think it's worth the wait!

:)
