I have spent a few hours looking for a good Hybrid or a "primo mech" mod like a Caravella or ihybrid... acquiring one is not that easy.
where does one go to actually purchase one?

is there a online dealer that carries multiple models?
or is it all by chance and getting on lists?

I understand the whole marketing effect of engineering complicated purchasing...but it seems silly to me to have something that cant be just simply purchased... looks like its more about social status and snobby elitism...

kinda frustrated ATM

You aren't the only one that feels that way. I wish china would hurry up and come out with some hybrid packages. All they have to do is put together a mech 18350/650 mod with an AGA-T like rba and anodize them in different colors.

With the higher end models you are paying a pretty penny for the look, brand, engraving/milling, and color. The functionality itself can be obtained for a much lower price. If you think the "craftsmanship" that goes into a metal tube is worth $300, more power to you. The only one I think is worth the money is the ihybrid LE for $250 on 310vapors. If you want one of those, clear your schedule and camp out on that site. There are sales coming up on the 6 and 11th. I wouldn't recommend shelling out $400 for one off the classifieds.

I plan on getting verified soon, thanks for the tip...I have seen some get on there and sell their "bnib" stuff for way more than the original price was and really don't want to get in that rat race..Again it reeks of elitist posturing, not going to mention any names but it seems a few "exclusive" individuals get access to stuff just so they can turn it over and make a hundred bucks or so by listing it ...but I guess that's how the game is played...

I understand the "limited Edition" and exclusivity of some of the stuff but cmon man really.....if you can sell you stuff at 259.00 a pop and you sell EVERY ONE YOU MAKE....and demand is so high that folks are able to resell it for even MORE it dont take a genius to figure out that you could make a hundred more

Hi...
...this is a challenge at the moment, yup.
...I joined up to a fb group too, which was designed to do trades and sales, but mostly I see guys wanting to trade...
...Here is a link to a thread from a couple days ago.. my posts near the bottom talk about what was available that day (the link to the ac9's I think are sold out now), and the last post on there I made a link to another guy who had another complete list...
...if you are using a tank w/cartomizers... there are a couple other links I would add, but this should be a good start..

Let me know if you have any questions about the posts, or have trouble..
..all the best, cheers, ~M

Exactly...I agree, its the look that I like.Machining stainless is not rocket science. but i am willing to support a craftsman that makes his living with his hands...I do that exact thing I own a construction company...

what yanks my chain is market manipulation and intentionally under producing to create demand...its kinda like the electronic industry releasing products around Christmas but intentionally producing less than the market will absorb and putting a high price on it....then a few kids pool up 1000 bucks for 3 xbox's and ebay them for 500 each. Its fair game i know...BUT they could have made 100000 more and sold them...they just wanted to build hype.

Yep, sadly it will be like this for awhile until some more products hit the market that fill this specific niche. People in the e-cig world love color and customization. They want the things they buy to match their personality. More suppliers need to recognize this fact.

It was the same when the very first mods hit the market. Limited supply and lots of demand meant the makers could charge high prices and no one complained.

...on-demand production is a sign of the times.
...and there are a number of unable-to-be-anticipated things that are factoring in presently which is driving demand.

...add to that, the designs are improving so quickly... who wants to be stuck with thousands of high end titanium, ss, mods..

...I know how you feel... I've lately looked into the small sherline cnc lathes, at a couple thousand or so... just wondering...

I just picked up a cyclon v2 atomizer, an rba for traveling that won't leak... (out of the UK with full VAT, etc..) The cyclon is hand milled (no cnc) in Poland... and the guy can only make so many....

...I have a hard time encouraging someone to steal a design and mass produce it.... though, that is the present day business model.. would rather they improve it.. which is an actual business model... anyway... maybe the Spheroid is similar...but I just don't see much else along these lines at a low cost anyway...

..ah whell... just a few more thoughts...
Enjoy your Saturday... Cheers, ~M

I am gonna speak on this part, as I know Faceless and he has tried to up production. At what point tho should a craftsmen be willing to give up quality control? He has tried hiring people to help him, and had to turn around a let them go because they didn't care about the quality of their work. He has bought more machines, the latest one just this last week. He has even tried hiring a helper again, I really do hope this one works out unlike the past ones.

Yes the stuff coming out of China is cheaper, how many posts are there in the forums about this and that problem with a cheap made device?

I like Super Ts work, and they have a front end page.

I'm not sure if thats the type of mod your looking for, but to me they are pretty luxury. The ELA looks like a pretty nice setup.

There is the Chi-You out of I believe South Korea but for some reason I feel like posting to the site that sells it isn't allowed or its on another forum, something.

totally respectable and understandable...I own a high end renovation company here in North Atlanta we focus on quality and i do all my own Casework and Cabinets..I truly understand the limit of production vs quality and also have struggled with employees that don't have a sense of ownership in their work.

I hope he finds his groove and can turn out some units soon till then i will continue to look around.

Please, excuse my ignorance:

I intend to build my first AGA T with Joyetech 18650/18350 regulated mod. I find them light, fun, protected and regulated. Do you think there'll be any problems? Thanks!!!

you shouldn't have any problems, but you can not get the same type of vape from it you do with a good hybrid

What it comes down to is a lot of the high end mods are made by one or two guys in a small shop, they simply cannot keep up with demand. Even the full production model like the ProVari are out of stock at times. Getting on a list is a risk at times...ask the folks who spent money on the J-Box, at other times it works out well, I got two Chi_You's because I was willing to prepay and wait on the original lists. You have to watch several forum, not just this one, and when you see a pre-production list starting for one you like then make up your mind if you want to pre pay and wait a month or two. Other times like with the iHybrid you have to be Johnny on the spot when they announce a sale time.

There are a lot of very good production mods out there, The ProVari, Saber Touch, BAM, Silver Bullet, REO...all easily available. Buy a production to use now and get on a list later.

this 100%, everyone gets used to the china production model of 5000 a week from some super mega corporation and forget that the hand made stuff is just that, handmade by a couple of people, in most cases just one or two guys who usually have other jobs as well.

the Ihybrid stuff is some of the hardest because its almost a limited edition model every release making them even more collectable.

and yea it's not hard to mill a steel tube, but it does take more work to mill that same tube using super tight tolerances, ask provape what they go through making sure the supplier produces tubes up to their standards and still keep them in stock.
