I just need some clarification. Both of these tanks are essentially the same except that one uses rubber grommets and the other uses metal grommets, is that correct?

I have two mini-subs being mailed over. Now, I don't have any experience with tanks yet but I've read that you have to disassemble the mini-subs in order to replace the cartomizer since the mini-subs use the rubber grommets. Assuming the buzz tanks use metal grommets, it seems feasable that you can replace the cartomizer fairly easily using the hot-swap method that this guy is using on the liquinator:

So you can hot swap on buzz but can't hot swap on mini-sub's: Is this true? Are there any other significant differences between these two tanks? I'm trying to get that clarified so I can order a buzz tank to go along with my tank collection.

I've been needing to replace the carto in my mini-sub for a few days now and have been putting it off because I can tell that the reassembly will be like my syringe tank... a bit fiddly (to use a British term).

Now, perhaps some superglue in the correct spots would keep the grommets in place...

actually the grommets are vinyl and they work really good with the o-ring around them. You can't "hot swap" but if you need to change the carto and there's still juice in the tank you can take a syringe and needle and suck out the remaining juice. Pull apart the tank, do what ever it is you do with your used cartos, rinse and dry the tank and grommets and reassemble with a new carto. The grommets give a really nice, snug, non sliding seal and the fill hole that comes with the sub tanks is really handy for filling. Before I used tanks with a fill hole I was always "fiddling" with them too. filling a grommets style tank is a pain.. mainly because it's hard to fill the tank while letting the displaced air escape. If it doesn't escape, the excess pressure inside the tank will force the juice into the hole in the carto and out the bottom.. till it's all gone. The fill hole eliminates this problem :)

I like my m1a1 more than my grommet tank. You can push the grommet down too far sometimes. The m1a1 has a lip to prevent going in too far. The grommet tanks have a death grip on the carto. I like to be able to slide my tank up/down at times to control flow from my almost horizontal slot.

They'll both crack though in stock form. My m1a1 has the fractures from root beer flavor :-(
