Here Here.. I agree. I can't find the directions of the passthough or the mod stick thingy on this site.. It's getting confusing looking for Mod directions in here with all the posts.. Especially with step-by-step instructions so I can see it be done in front of me.. I'm really stupid with making things and I need help...

whiskywill, I thank you for creating mods... Like you, I just can't afford all the $100 mods available... I did buy a Janty Stick and love it, but I'd like to make my own (well afew of them) or buy a mod that is a decent price from someone reputable in here... So far I haven't really saved money in e-ciggies compared to buying analogs online.. Sooooooooooo stupid me can't get enough nicotine without using 24mg or 18mg, or combining 24mg and 18mg combined for that matter, yet 36mg gives me a massive headache.. So I decided not to buy analogs to get a nic kick, but I bought a Hookah which is great and use it normally twice a day.. Now I need to spend more money... There's got to be a way... My luck is that I'll have to keep on buying mods or more sticks throughout the years if I can't make them myself

dont worry if u really want to do it cause its going to be like 2 weeks before i post up the step buy step but basically its like the nicostick with a regulator it goies to the regulator then the positive goes through the push butoon and then the atty conecter it is reall simple i did this all by looking at someones pic lol and surprisingly works yeah i understand what u mean i dont think i can quite afford 100 -150 on some of the mods out there and it seems for me its not the nic i need its the flavor and throat hit in the draw that really work for me 18mg is all i vape now lol

i used a aaa a batterie box that holds 2 batts
a 2.0 usb cord
momentary switch
510 bat conecter
ti regulator 5v
and of course a drill, soldiering iron, pliers and my hand and teeth for striping the small wires in the usb cord lol

Well I hope you aren't using a credit card and buying from USA suppliers. Don't know how aggressive PA is but many states will audit these vendors and check your CC statements and send you a massive tax bill (penalties and interest). They usually wait a few years and you have no recourse. As little as 4 cartons a month can add up to thousands.

I understand the reason most of the parts ... I assume I can use a 510 battery connecter off an old battery, no?

If you;re using USB power then why do you need the battery box?

What's a ti regulator 5v?

Just a small container (even if no battery is needed) to attach the connector to, and hold the switch/wiring/electronics.

and a ti regulater is a regulater that makes it a constent 5v it doesnt have to be a ti thats just the brand i used plus its free sample u can get one at radio shack for like 1.50 i got one from there but its alot bigger

hey whiskywill, im new to this forum (its my first post). i tryed making the nicostick today but it kinda was a faliure to me as i got one vape out of it n then hasent put a vape out yet an i was jw. could u by any chance put a video of how to make yer 5v. nicostick with a usb passthrough on it from the ground up so i could follow it like step by step? im really interested in having a mod tht works and is 5v. becuase i jus dont have tht type of money to buy a 5v. passthrough so if i could make my own for knda cheap tht would b a big help. so if u could it would really be the best thing ever . thank u.

You don't need a regulator if you're using USB - it's a 5v output.

You need some sort of small box (2AA or 2AAA should work fine) to hold the switch and connector.

Mount your switch (normally open pushbutton) and battery connector in the box. Run the USB cable into the box. Solder the black wire to the outside of the connector. Solder the red wire to one side of the switch. Take another piece of wire and solder between the other side of the switch and the center of the connector.

Plug in the USB cable (preferrably to a wall-plug USB charger that provides at least 1amp (1.5A - 2A is better), attach your atomizer and vape away.

i just had a few qestions before i give a shot at tryn it.
ok i seen in whiskywills video (if im not mistaking) he used a regulator for his.
would there b any difference if i used one or not?
also i seen a in a different forum tht u could use a M Panel-mount Coaxial Power Jack w/Switch from radio shack to plug my atty into?
if i could use tht to plug my atty into instead of a battery connector how would i wire it together to work?

u dont need the regulator this was my first usb pass through ive made many now it came to my attetion that usb have a regulator installed like ur pc or xbox so on u will not get a full 5v but with a charger like one that plugs into a wall u will just order 2 lol but othere then that ill post a newer video soon on more details

so since i already have ( 2 aa battery box and a pushbotton) i guess now all i need is a m panel thing from radioshack and a usb cord and hopefully all b good to go ahead and try makin it. if this one doesnt work iguess im just gona have to wait till u post the video n then follow it step by step.
also if anyone knos how to wire up a m panel thing from radioshack instead of gettn a battery conector. or if it will work with a 510 atty please let me kno.

One thing I noticed about the PT mods and such lately-by the time you go buy the box, connector, switch, and a few other odd parts, you can almost just buy a pre made one-I've seen them for as cheap as 10 bucks on some sites- (ofc you have to wait a bit, and it isn't as cool as making your own, imo) But if money is in fact an issue, you may want to just consider that-just a suggestion.

Just as an example (never ordered from here)-I found these for $9-not sure about shipping from them tho-but I'm sure there's other places just as cheap.

Shipping's about $15. What you see here though is folks are wanting a 5V (at least) PT for their 510's. The factory one has a 3.6V battery that's just being charged between puffs.
